Ten minutes with Angelique

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to two guiding principles that have shaped both my personal and professional journey. First, I believe in choosing the hard right over the easy wrong by making decisions rooted in integrity, accountability, and strong values, even when challenges arise. Second, I embrace the mindset that I never truly lose; I either achieve success or gain valuable lessons and experiences that help me grow. These principles have allowed me to navigate challenges, continuously improve, and approach every opportunity with resilience and a commitment to lifelong learning.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I have ever received is to always seek constructive feedback and use it as an opportunity for continuous improvement. I believe that being open to feedback helps me grow professionally, strengthen my skills, and gain valuable perspectives from others. Embracing feedback has allowed me to identify areas for development, adapt to new challenges, and continue striving for excellence throughout my career.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice to young women entering the healthcare compliance industry is to remain resilient and never give up, even when faced with rejection, challenges, or setbacks. Success does not happen overnight, and difficult moments are often part of the journey toward growth and achievement. Believe in yourself, stay committed to your goals, and trust that your hard work will create opportunities. Be patient with your progress, give yourself grace along the way, and continue moving forward with confidence and purpose.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest challenges and opportunities in healthcare compliance right now is navigating the constant evolution of government regulations and newly enacted laws. Staying current with regulatory changes and effectively implementing updated requirements is essential to ensuring organizations remain compliant and continue protecting patients’ privacy and information. While these changes can be challenging, they also create opportunities for compliance professionals to strengthen processes, improve risk management strategies, and help organizations adapt to an ever-changing healthcare landscape.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values that are most important to me in both my work and personal life are trust, honesty, integrity, and empathy. I believe these values are the foundation for building meaningful relationships, making ethical decisions, and creating a positive impact. By leading with transparency, treating others with respect and compassion, and staying true to my principles, I strive to build trust and contribute to a culture of accountability and collaboration in every aspect of my life.
