Her Interview
Ten minutes with Ann
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to a combination of self-motivation, strong attention to detail, effective time management, and a commitment to lifelong learning. I believe that continuing to grow both personally and professionally is essential to achieving long-term success. Equally important are the values of kindness, respect, and active listening, which have enabled me to build meaningful relationships, collaborate effectively with others, and approach every opportunity with empathy and professionalism.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I have ever received is that if you bring positivity to others, positivity will often come back to you. Maintaining a positive attitude, treating people with respect, and supporting those around you can open doors and create meaningful professional relationships. Another piece of advice that has stayed with me is, "The more you know, the more you grow." This mindset has reinforced the importance of continuous learning, personal development, and embracing new opportunities to expand my knowledge and skills throughout my career.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I would encourage young women entering this field to speak up and share their ideas with confidence—your voice matters, and your perspective can make a meaningful impact. Don't let obstacles stand in the way of your dreams or goals. Continue investing in your education, advocate for yourself, and be willing to step outside your comfort zone to pursue new opportunities. Most importantly, believe in your abilities, stay resilient, and never be afraid to put yourself out there. Success often comes from the courage to take that first step and trust in your potential.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest opportunities in my field right now is building stronger connections with individuals, businesses, schools, and community organizations to better understand and support their education and recruitment needs. As workforce demands continue to evolve, there is a growing need for innovative partnerships that help attract, develop, and retain talented professionals. The challenge lies in effectively engaging diverse stakeholders and creating pathways that align educational opportunities with workforce needs. By fostering collaboration, expanding outreach efforts, and remaining responsive to changing industry trends, we can create meaningful solutions that benefit both organizations and the individuals they serve.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values that guide my work and personal life are a commitment to taking pride in everything I do, striving for excellence in all areas, and consistently leading by example. I also value empathy and understanding in my interactions with others, as I believe meaningful relationships are built through respect and compassion. Ultimately, I am driven by a desire to make a positive difference and contribute in ways that create lasting impact for individuals, organizations, and the communities I serve.
