I am the CEO and co-founder of Find Your Voice Now, a nonprofit organization I started in November 2022 with my co-founders. We support individuals navigating through toxic, coercive, and abusive relationships, whether physical, mental, or emotional, across all aspects of their lives - it could be a family member, a partner, a friend, or even your mother. We help by offering resources and support to help people discover the tools they need to get through these difficult situations. I've been a certified wellness coach for 25 years, and a lot of my clients have dealt with stress management and stress disorders. I personally went through a difficult relationship and felt like I did not have the support that I needed. It took me a long time, but I finally got out, and I just want to offer what was not around for me when I needed it. When I started this, I had to take from my own savings, and there's a very good chance I still may have to do that, but the sustainability of this is vital and necessary, and I know the money will come. I partner with domestic violence facilities, women's shelters, rape crisis centers, United Way, and homes for human-trafficked girls. We just received a matching grant from the Good People Fund. I have wonderful people that share my vision, and I could not do it without my team.

Q

What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to a great deal of teamwork. I have wonderful people that share my vision, and I could not do it without my team. The collaboration and support from the people around me has been essential to everything we've accomplished.

Q

What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

Attack your fear, believe in yourself!

Q

What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Honestly, to listen. To listen to what people have to say, because they all have value. Everyone's voice and perspective matters, and taking the time to truly hear what others are sharing is essential to doing this work well.

Q

What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

Money. Grant funding is definitely a challenge. When I started this, I had to take from my own savings, and there's a very good chance I still may have to do that. But the sustainability of this is vital and necessary, and I know the money will come. Securing consistent funding to keep this organization running is the biggest challenge we face right now.

Q

What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Awareness is the biggest aspect of what is important to me. Anything that can provide awareness so that nobody has to feel alone and isolated in a situation is what drives my work. Making sure people know they have support and resources available to them is at the core of everything I do.
