Her Story
About Ashleigh
Ashleigh Mullen is a digital marketing entrepreneur, web developer, and digital solutions professional based in De Pere, Wisconsin. With approximately a decade of experience developing her skills in digital marketing, technology, and web development, she has built a career around helping businesses and professionals strengthen their online presence. Through NWoodStudio, she combines IT knowledge, local SEO, website development, conversion strategy, reputation management, and digital marketing to help clients become more visible, credible, and effective online. Her work increasingly focuses on helping home service businesses such as plumbers, electricians, and contractors turn their digital presence into a reliable source of leads, referrals, and booked business.
Ashleigh's professional journey has included both corporate and entrepreneurial experience. She previously held roles in information technology, marketing, customer support, workforce management, and operations, developing experience in systems, process improvement, analytics, customer relationships, and digital strategy. She has also developed specialized expertise in creating professional portfolio websites, resumes, and personal branding solutions that allow job seekers to communicate their accomplishments, personality, and professional identity beyond a traditional résumé. Her approach is largely self-taught and has been strengthened through professional development, including She Sells Academy and mentorship with Maria Wendt and Taki Moore.
Beyond her professional work, Ashleigh is passionate about helping people use technology and personal branding to create meaningful opportunities. One of her most memorable experiences involved helping a single father who had lost his job and was living in a vehicle with his daughter; through résumé assistance and interview guidance, he ultimately secured employment and housing. Ashleigh's entrepreneurial journey has also allowed her to create greater flexibility for her family and spend meaningful time with her young son. She continues to build her business around authenticity, service, continuous learning, and the belief that technology is most valuable when it helps people communicate their value and create real-world opportunities.
Her Interview
Ten minutes with Ashleigh
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to resilience, continuous learning, self-education, and a willingness to step outside of my comfort zone. I have spent years teaching myself web development, technology, and digital marketing while continuing to learn through mentorships and professional development programs. I also believe that my success comes from genuinely caring about the people I work with and focusing on creating solutions that make a meaningful difference in their lives and businesses.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The most valuable lesson I have learned throughout my career is to keep learning and to be willing to embrace uncomfortable situations. My transition from corporate employment into entrepreneurship required me to step outside of what was familiar and trust that I could build something of my own. The mentorship and training I received from professionals such as Maria Wendt, Taki Moore, and Shelby Sapp also taught me the importance of investing in myself, developing strong sales skills, and continuing to grow professionally.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I would encourage young women to believe in their abilities, continue learning, and not be afraid to create their own path. Technology and digital marketing offer tremendous opportunities for people who are willing to develop practical skills and keep adapting. I would also encourage women to embrace uncomfortable situations rather than allowing fear to keep them from pursuing opportunities. Your unique experiences, personality, and perspective can become strengths when you learn how to communicate and showcase them effectively.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest opportunities in digital marketing is the ability to use technology to create stronger digital identities and connect businesses and professionals with the people they want to reach. At the same time, businesses and individuals face the challenge of standing out in an increasingly crowded online environment. For home service businesses in particular, having a strong website, local search presence, customer reviews, and a trustworthy digital footprint can make a significant difference. I see an opportunity to combine technical expertise, SEO, conversion strategy, reputation management, and automation to create digital systems that produce measurable results rather than simply making something look good online.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
I value authenticity, service, continuous learning, resilience, and meaningful impact. I want the work I do to be useful and to create tangible opportunities for the people I serve. I also value being present for my family and creating meaningful experiences with my son. Whether I am helping a business become more visible online or helping an individual present themselves more effectively to potential employers, I want my work to make a genuine difference.
