Her Story

About Ashley

Ashley Williams is a Senior Visual Communications Strategist at NCM Associates, where she leads the development of creative visual experiences that strengthen brand identity and engage audiences across the automotive consulting and training industry. She oversees the company's visual communications from concept to execution, including social media campaigns, event branding, presentation design, large-format graphics, and immersive event experiences. Known for bringing fresh energy and innovative thinking to every project, she creates compelling visual storytelling that connects with diverse audiences and elevates the overall brand experience.

Williams earned a bachelor's degree in Creative Advertising with an emphasis in Graphic Design from Washburn University after transitioning from pre-nursing studies to pursue her passion for creativity and design. During her career at NCM Associates, she progressed from content development and graphic design roles to her current senior leadership position, gaining expertise in brand communications, event marketing, social media strategy, and visual design. Her work has supported major national events, including the Clients & Friends Digital Success Workshop and Fuel the Future, and she achieved the notable distinction of designing visual content featured on the Arrowhead Stadium Jumbotron during a company event.

Driven by curiosity, adaptability, and a willingness to embrace new challenges, Williams believes that innovation comes from experimentation and continuous learning. She actively mentors emerging professionals through NCM's Emerging Leaders Program and serves on the leadership team of the Community Outreach Inclusion Network, while volunteering with Operation Breakthrough and other community service initiatives. Passionate about inspiring others, she encourages the next generation of creative professionals to take risks, learn from failure, and approach every opportunity with confidence, resilience, and an open mind.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Ashley

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to being willing to step outside my comfort zone and embrace new opportunities, even before I felt completely ready. I believe in continually trying new ideas, adapting when necessary, and refusing to become stagnant. Rather than forcing people or situations into predetermined expectations, I stay flexible, experiment with creative approaches, and learn through experience.

02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

I encourage young women to be adventurous and willing to try new things. Don't be afraid to fail or take constructive criticism personally because every setback provides an opportunity to learn and improve. The greatest growth comes from experimenting, taking risks, and continually refining your craft through experience.

03What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest challenges is capturing people's attention and creating meaningful emotional connections with a brand across audiences with different preferences and communication styles. Successfully engaging both traditional and digital-first audiences requires adaptability and thoughtful design. At the same time, this presents an exciting opportunity to create memorable visual experiences, experiment with innovative concepts, and develop creative campaigns that truly stand out.
