Larkin is an accomplished theater professional and arts administrator, currently serving as the Managing Director of The Cat Theatre in Carmel, Indiana, and the Founding Director of The Drama Department, a youth educational theater program. What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to the guidance and support of my parents, who instilled in me the values of dedication, perseverance, and a love for learning from an early age.

What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

A mentor from college once told me to never say no to an opportunity where I could learn something new. I have embraced this advice by saying yes to experiences that build skills, because you never know when they might become valuable in your career.

What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Being kind and approachable doesn’t have to hold you back. You can be firm, set boundaries, and still lead with a positive attitude and a smile.

What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

Opportunities lie in networking and building meaningful relationships across the industry. One of the biggest challenges, however, is securing consistent funding to sustain creative projects.

I value serving my community, maintaining clear and compassionate communication, and approaching both work and life with empathy and integrity.
