Aurora Fish is the owner and founder of ACF Photography, a woman-owned photography business based in Tomball, Texas, serving surrounding areas including Spring, Houston, The Woodlands, Magnolia, Conroe, and Sugar Land. She specializes in portrait, branding, lifestyle, and event photography, offering both full-color and intentional black-and-white imagery. Her work is rooted in collaboration and storytelling, with a strong emphasis on capturing authentic moments that reflect each client’s personality, purpose, and connection.

Aurora began pursuing photography in mid-2025 and quickly transitioned into working with clients later that year. Since then, she has gained experience across a range of session types, including couples, families, maternity, newborns, children’s portraits, headshots, and small-business branding. As a solo photographer, she manages every aspect of her business—from shooting to editing—while continuing to refine her creative style and focus. Over time, she has developed a particular interest in creative branding work, couple sessions, and portrait-based storytelling, while choosing not to pursue weddings as part of her niche.

In addition to her photography business, Aurora is currently completing a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology at Western Governors University, with plans to pursue a Master’s in Counseling. She also serves as an affiliate photographer with Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep, supporting families through compassionate newborn and remembrance photography. Her work reflects a balance between artistic expression and service, combining visual storytelling with a growing academic focus on human behavior, empathy, and care.

Q

What do you attribute your success to?

Honestly, I'd say a combination of the support and encouragement from my husband, and also an inner desire to always be better and prove to myself that I am, in fact, capable and can be successful. I guess that drive - a combination of support and just intense drive. I think having that support system and that internal fire to constantly improve and challenge myself has been key. It's about having people who believe in you while also having that personal determination to keep pushing forward and proving what you're capable of achieving.

Q

What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

I think that exposure is, especially when it comes to being a creative, incredibly important, because all of our art is different, all of our art requires a specific audience to gain traction with, even if we're under similar categories. So I think that exposure is also just a really big deal when it comes to being a creative, a successful creative. It's validating to be recognized, even though I'm just starting out in my business, and I'm excited to see where it goes.

Q

What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

I would say that integrity and empathy are probably what I hold to. If you don't have integrity, I don't think you can really ever find the success that you're looking for, or be happy with whatever success you do find, because you're constantly looking to find loopholes, and cheat, and cut corners. I think that being an integrous person is one of the most honorable things you can do. And when it comes to photography, which is a business of people, if you don't have empathy for the people that you're working for, or a desire to truly connect with them, both personally and professionally, then one, you can't execute your job properly, because you're not going to be able to capture the essence of the person that you're photographing. And two, you're not going to be remembered as someone who had warmth and was personable, and you're not gonna have people come back to you, because there's a certain level of detachment that I think people remember more than whatever photo that you took. So I'd say being an integrous person, being an empathetic person, and being someone who values connection over the end results - I guess valuing the journey.
