Bridget Winslow, BSN, RN, is a dedicated nurse educator at Premier Home Health Care Services, Inc., where she specializes in training and certifying home health aides for the Department of Health. Fluent in both English and Spanish, she has spent over a decade teaching immigrant students, often providing their first meaningful exposure to American culture while emphasizing power, knowledge, and independence. Her approach blends compassion with high standards, ensuring that her students are confident, skilled, and prepared to provide exceptional care to patients, primarily the elderly.
Before entering the nursing field, Bridget enjoyed a distinguished 31-year career as a professional opera singer with the New York City Opera, beginning her tenure at just 23 years old. During her time performing, she pursued her passion for nursing, completing an accelerated 16-month BSN program at New York University. Her unique combination of artistic discipline and healthcare expertise allows her to connect with students through empathy, patience, and a strong sense of professionalism.
Bridget’s personal journey reflects resilience and determination. In 2025, she was honored as a listee in Marquis Who's Who, recognizing her lifetime achievements. Following a uterine cancer diagnosis, she continued to teach while undergoing chemotherapy, exemplifying the perseverance and positivity she instills in her students. Today, she maintains her health through ongoing immunotherapy and continues to inspire both her students and colleagues with her dedication, leadership, and unwavering commitment to education and patient care.

What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute much of my success to the lessons I learned from my father. He worked in a factory, yet he always wanted the very best for me. His approach was tough and demanding, but it instilled in me a strong sense of perseverance. He always told me not to quit, to keep going no matter the obstacles, and that mindset has stayed with me throughout my life. Early academic success reinforced my confidence and set me on a path of continuous growth. Even while growing up in challenging circumstances, I pursued my passions—learning piano and singing—and I remained committed to moving forward, always striving to create opportunities beyond my beginnings.
What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I ever received was from my father: never quit, no matter the challenge. He instilled in me the importance of perseverance, and that principle has guided me throughout my entire career.
What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
To young women entering my field, I always say: first, believe in yourself—you can do it. Confidence is essential, even in the face of doubt or discouragement from others. Many students, and young women in particular, have faced challenges or subtle messages that limit their aspirations, but it’s important to push past those barriers. In my work, I often see students overcome fear and uncertainty, and I remind them that it’s okay to feel uncomfortable—that’s where growth happens. Building resilience and endurance allows you to navigate challenges and sustain yourself through both the highs and lows of your career.
What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest challenges in my field right now is fostering resilience and endurance in incoming nurses. I’ve noticed that some younger nurses may struggle with a sense of entitlement, which can make it harder to sustain the consistent effort required for growth and advancement. At the same time, this presents an opportunity: by mentoring and supporting these nurses, we can help them develop the perseverance and dedication that will not only advance their careers but also strengthen the profession as a whole.
What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values I prioritize most are resilience, positivity, and independence. I believe in staying committed, never quitting, and maintaining a positive outlook—even through challenges—because that mindset empowers both myself and those I mentor.
