Her Story

About Brittany

Brittany Barth serves as Marketing Content Manager at Franklin Madison, where she leads a team of four responsible for the company's in-house marketing content strategy and execution. With more than 12 years of experience in marketing, she has developed expertise in content strategy, search engine optimization (SEO), digital marketing, brand messaging, analytics, lead generation, and team leadership. Over the past six years, Brittany has focused her career within the insurance and financial services industry, including three years with Franklin Madison, where she plays a key role in developing content initiatives that strengthen brand awareness, support business development, and drive measurable marketing performance.

Prior to joining the corporate sector, Brittany founded and operated her own marketing agency for more than nine years, building a successful business that served between 25 and 50 clients across a diverse range of industries. Through her agency, she provided strategic marketing consulting, content development, SEO, website optimization, copywriting, and digital marketing services, helping organizations enhance their visibility and achieve sustainable growth. She later transitioned into corporate marketing leadership, where she has continued to combine strategic planning with creative storytelling to produce impactful marketing solutions. Brittany earned a Bachelor of Arts in English, graduating cum laude from Kent State University, after initially pursuing a path toward education before discovering her passion for writing and helping businesses communicate their unique value through compelling content. She also holds an Associate degree in Paralegal Studies from ITT Technical Institute and has completed numerous professional certifications in digital marketing, analytics, and advertising platforms.

Throughout her career, Brittany has been recognized for her collaborative leadership style, strategic thinking, and commitment to continuous improvement. She credits her entrepreneurial mindset to the influence of her aunt, whose successful career in executive sales inspired her early professional development, as well as to the mentors at Franklin Madison who have supported her growth as a leader. A firm believer in resilience, adaptability, and lifelong learning, Brittany approaches challenges with determination and a focus on achieving meaningful results. Following a Lyme disease diagnosis several years ago, she became increasingly committed to maintaining a healthy work-life balance through wellness, personal development, and time with her husband and family. She also remains dedicated to community service by providing pro bono marketing and website support for local animal rescue organizations and nonprofit groups. Brittany believes that lasting success is built through integrity, perseverance, meaningful relationships, and a genuine commitment to helping others succeed.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Brittany

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to perseverance, curiosity, and a commitment to continuous learning throughout my career. With over 12 years in marketing, including nearly a decade building and leading my own agency serving 25 to 50 clients at a time across diverse industries, I developed a strong foundation in strategy, leadership, and results-driven execution before transitioning into the corporate space. Today, as Marketing Content Manager at Franklin Madison, I lead a team and develop content strategies that strengthen brands and drive measurable growth. Although my background is in English, I discovered my strength in turning ideas into compelling stories that inspire action. I’ve been guided by strong mentors along the way and continue to live by the belief that “everything is figureoutable,” with a focus on relationships, growth, and meaningful impact.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The most influential advice I have ever received is simple: never stop networking. I believe every conversation has the potential to become a learning opportunity, a collaboration, or the beginning of a lifelong professional relationship. Whether connecting with peers, executives, or mentors, I have found that genuine relationships consistently open doors that talent alone cannot.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

I encourage young women to step beyond their comfort zones and never let shyness limit their potential. I believe one of the greatest strengths a professional can develop is the willingness to ask questions, seek guidance, and build meaningful mentorships. Success is rarely achieved alone, and I want to remind aspiring leaders that asking for help is a sign of confidence, not weakness. By remaining persistent, visible, and open to learning, women can create opportunities that may have once seemed out of reach.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

I believe that the marketing profession continues to offer incredible opportunities for women to lead with creativity, innovation, and authenticity. I am continually encouraged by the growing representation of women in executive leadership—including my current company's first female CEO—which provides powerful examples for future generations and demonstrates that leadership is becoming increasingly diverse. While opportunities continue to expand, I do believe women should intentionally build strong professional networks, seek mentors, and advocate for themselves throughout their careers. By embracing collaboration instead of competition and supporting one another's growth, it is possible for women to continue reshaping the future of business while inspiring others to pursue leadership with confidence and purpose.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Family, resilience, compassion, and lifelong learning are at the heart of everything I do. I credit both my confidence and entrepreneurial spirit to the unwavering support of my family—my mom, who always pushed me to reach higher; my husband, who has never doubted me; and my aunt, who nurtured my entrepreneurial mindset and taught me to think like a business owner from a young age. Giving back is equally important to me. I work with multiple animal rescues and non-profits, including Guardians 4 Paws Animal Rescue, using my marketing expertise to support animal welfare and strengthen community outreach pro bono. My perspective on success was forever changed after being diagnosed with Lyme disease. That experience taught me that achievement means little without health and balance. Today, I intentionally prioritize reading, exercise, healthy living, and quality time with my husband and family because I believe caring for myself allows me to show up as a stronger leader, colleague, and advocate. I also use my voice to raise awareness about Lyme disease and create a platform to help people advocate for themselves and find answers, transforming a personal challenge into an opportunity to educate, encourage, and support others.
