Ten minutes with Brittany

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to hard work, dedication, goal setting, and a commitment to serving others. Throughout my career, I have believed that leadership is rooted in service. As a representative, I focused on serving my customers and meeting their needs; as an assistant manager, I prioritized supporting and developing my direct reports. I have carried this servant leadership mindset into every position I have held, allowing me to build strong relationships, achieve meaningful results, and contribute to the success of those around me.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

One of the best pieces of career advice I have received came from Jim Richmond, an influential professional mentor with approximately 35 years of industry experience. I participated in a six month mentorship program with Jim, and although the formal program ended, we have continued to stay in contact. His experience, perspective, and guidance have reinforced the importance of learning from seasoned professionals and building meaningful relationships that support continued growth. I believe that maintaining connections with mentors who challenge, encourage, and share their knowledge can have a lasting impact on both personal and professional development.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice to young women entering my industry is to recognize opportunities when they come and have the confidence to open the door. Do not be afraid to be yourself, speak up, or share your perspective. I have learned the importance of knowing my value, being prepared, and always having the facts to support my ideas. Your unique experiences, knowledge, and perspective bring tremendous value to the table, so embrace who you are and never be afraid to make your voice heard.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest challenges and opportunities in my field right now is the rapid growth of artificial intelligence. While AI can create uncertainty, I believe it is important to embrace it, learn how to use it effectively, and recognize the opportunities it creates. Beyond technology, another significant challenge is the fear of stepping outside your comfort zone or being fully confident in who you are. I believe growth comes from embracing change, taking calculated risks, and having the courage to step beyond the familiar.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values most important to me in both my work and personal life are hard work, authenticity, service, dedication, growth, and supporting others. I believe people are most effective when they have the confidence to bring their authentic selves to what they do rather than conforming to expectations that diminish their strengths. have learned the importance of trusting my abilities, speaking up, and recognizing that my perspective has value. I strive to lead with integrity, continue growing, and use my experiences to support and encourage others.
