About Carina
I am a community engagement and program development professional with a deep commitment to equity, access, and building stronger communities through transportation, mental health, and social services. I currently serve as a Community Affairs Representative at TriMet in the Portland, Oregon metropolitan area, a role I have held since December 2024, where I develop programs, engage stakeholders, and support community partnerships to ensure equitable access to public transportation.
I also serve as a Community Outreach Specialist at Ride Connection, Inc., a role I have held since December 2023, where I coordinate outreach efforts and program development to connect communities with vital transportation resources. Prior to this, I served as Program Coordinator at the Mental Health and Addiction Association of Oregon for nearly one year, where I managed program logistics and development in support of mental health and addiction recovery services.
Earlier in my career, I served as Community Organizer at Unite Oregon for nine months, where I led multiple cohorts to support the creation of the Tualatin Valley Highway Equity Coalition, advancing community-driven transportation equity in Washington County. I also served as Administrative Assistant at Casey Family Programs in Boise, Idaho, for over two years, where I contributed to fiscal management, project evaluation and reporting, staff support, and database development in support of child welfare and family services.
I hold a Bachelor of Science in Sociology and a Bachelor of Arts in Multi Ethnic Studies from Boise State University.
Across my career in community engagement, program development, and social services, my work has been driven by a commitment to equity, collaboration, and creating systems that support the well-being of individuals and communities. Whether I am engaging community members in transportation planning, coordinating mental health programs, or supporting child welfare initiatives, I bring a relationship-centered approach, strong organizational skills, and a dedication to making a positive impact. I am proud of the work I have done and excited to continue building community-centered solutions through my work at TriMet and Ride Connection.
