Carleigh Hill
Carleigh Hill is a health insurance advisor known for her relationship-driven approach and rapid success in a highly competitive industry. Based in Texas and licensed in 22 states, she has built her business primarily through social media, referrals, and self-marketing, focusing on authentic connections rather than traditional sales tactics. Before entering insurance, Carleigh spent years in the service industry—working in restaurants as a manager, bartender, and server—where she developed the communication skills, adaptability, and people-first mindset that now define her professional style.
Carleigh entered the insurance field during a period of personal and professional transition, seeking stability but quickly discovering an opportunity to build something of her own. Within a year, she established herself as a top-performing agent by doing things differently—eschewing scripts and conventional sales methods in favor of honest, conversational interactions with clients. Her strong interest in medicine, combined with hands-on experience as a caregiver for her grandmother and her own personal health knowledge, allows her to guide clients with a deeper level of understanding and empathy. Rather than “selling” insurance, she focuses on educating clients and helping them make informed decisions that genuinely fit their needs.
Now working independently and preparing for a move to Colorado, Carleigh is focused on continuing to grow her personal brand and expanding her impact in the industry. As one of the few agents in her organization who has succeeded outside of traditional expectations, she brings a bold, unconventional perspective to her work. She believes her ability to connect with people from all walks of life is one of her greatest strengths, allowing her to build trust quickly and effectively. Grounded in honesty and a commitment to doing what’s right for her clients, Carleigh represents a new generation of professionals redefining success on their own terms.

What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to a combination of my medical knowledge, my personal experiences, and the way I approach people. I originally wanted to be a doctor, and I’ve always had a strong interest in how medications and the body work. Being a caregiver for my grandmother also gave me real, hands-on experience that helps me truly understand what clients are going through. On top of that, I’ve been fortunate to have mentors in the industry who have guided me along the way. I’ve also put a lot of effort into self-marketing through social media and referrals, and I’ve stayed true to my style—talking to clients like real people, not reading from a script. That authenticity is what sets me apart.
What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Don’t sell yourself small. Be confident in what you know and don’t be afraid to show it. When you truly understand your product and can speak to it clearly, people trust you. Especially as a woman in this field, confidence and knowledge go a long way. Own your expertise and don’t feel like you have to fit into someone else’s mold to succeed.
What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
There are definitely challenges in this industry, especially around office culture and the structure of being an independent contractor. Things like commission advances, recoupment policies, and strict expectations around hours or sales funnels can limit flexibility and create pressure. But at the same time, there are huge opportunities. Being licensed in multiple states allows you to expand your reach, and building a personal brand gives you more control over your business. There’s also the potential to grow into your own agency or pivot into new markets, like I’m planning to do with my move to Colorado.
What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The most important values to me are honesty and putting people first. I’m always going to do what’s right for my clients, even if it’s not the most profitable decision for me. I believe in being upfront, transparent, and making sure people feel taken care of. At the end of the day, I want to build trust and long-term relationships, not just close a sale.
