Her Interview
Ten minutes with Caroline
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to more than 30 years of experience in education, leadership, and service, along with an ongoing commitment to personal and professional growth. Throughout my journey, I have developed strong leadership, administrative, and interpersonal skills that now guide my work as the Founder of Anchored Generations. My dedication to lifelong learning led me to earn an Executive Leadership Certificate from Cornell University, further strengthening my ability to lead with integrity, navigate challenges, and serve others with compassion. Together, these experiences have prepared me to create meaningful resources, empower individuals and families, and make a lasting impact across generations.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I have ever received is to listen more than I speak. Genuine listening allows me to understand others, appreciate different perspectives, build meaningful relationships, and make thoughtful, informed decisions. This principle has shaped both my personal and professional growth and continues to remind me that effective leadership begins with humility, patience, empathy, and a willingness to understand before being understood.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I would encourage young women entering the leadership and consulting industry to remain teachable, trust their voices, and never underestimate the value of their unique experiences. Listen carefully, ask thoughtful questions, and approach every opportunity with integrity and a willingness to learn. Don't let comparison or fear diminish your confidence. Build meaningful relationships, seek wise mentors, and remember that leadership is not about having all the answers—it is about serving others, creating trust, and helping people grow. Success takes time, so remain patient, adaptable, and committed to becoming the kind of leader you would want to follow.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the greatest challenges—and opportunities—in my field is working with people who bring different needs, experiences, perspectives, and personalities. Supporting individuals through personal or professional challenges can be especially difficult when they are not yet ready to receive guidance or make a change. I approach these situations with patience, empathy, and respect, recognizing that meaningful growth cannot be forced. Instead, I focus on listening, building trust, and creating a supportive environment where individuals feel seen, valued, and encouraged to take positive steps when they are ready.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values most important to me in both my work and personal life are compassion, service, generosity, integrity, and a genuine commitment to helping others. These values are at the heart of Anchored Generations and guide the way I support individuals and families as they pursue healing, stronger relationships, and a renewed sense of purpose. My experiences have strengthened my belief in giving back, empowering others, and using my time, knowledge, and resources to create meaningful and lasting change across generations.
