Her Interview
Ten minutes with Catrina
01What do you attribute your success to?
I grew up through a lot of difficulties, which made me into who I am. And taught me how to truly appreciate little things. Instead of looking at what you're lacking, be grateful for the many blessings you have.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
Never give up. Always do your best. Treat others how you want to be treated. And always look for the blessings in what you do.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Try to find a way to get paid for doing what you love, because if you don't enjoy your job, what's the point of doing it? You're just gonna hate it and be miserable, and life's way too short for that.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest challenges I've personally faced is learning everything through first hand experiences when I started the home health job. Like how to use the Hoyer lift.
One of the greatest opportunities is, working with Veterans, through Simplicity Home Care. Our Veterans gave everything for our Country. This way I get to give even just a little bit back to them, at a time they need it the most, and hear their amazing stories.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Honesty, integrity, being somebody that's reliable. Advocating for those who can't stand up for themselves. Remaining humble. And of course paying it forward to our incredible Veterans. They are the real heroes.
