About Celisa
Dr. Celisa M. Jackson is a servant leader, financial coach, certified Christian counselor, consultant, and Founder and CEO of Take A 2nd Look, LLC. With more than 30 years of experience in the financial industry and three decades with Mary Kay Cosmetics, she has built a distinguished career centered on leadership, entrepreneurship, mentorship, and empowering individuals to reach their personal and professional potential. Through her work, Dr. Jackson is committed to inspiring transformation, building confidence, and helping others discover purpose through faith-based guidance and meaningful connections. As a Board-Certified Christian Counselor, Dr. Jackson dedicates herself to community service by connecting individuals with resources that support growth and well-being. She is passionate about advocating for young people and seniors by helping bridge the gap between communities, organizations, and available city and county resources. Dr. Jackson earned an Associate degree in Christian Studies and a Bachelor’s degree in Christian Leadership from Tripp Bible Institute and is currently completing her Master’s degree in Christian Leadership, she also has an Honorary Doctorate Degree PhD in Theology (Divinity) from Chosen Christian University (CCU). Her educational foundation, combined with her professional experience, continues to strengthen her ability to lead, mentor, and serve others. Throughout her career, Dr. Jackson has been recognized for her dedication to service and leadership, including receiving a community service award for her outstanding contributions within the organizations she has served. She attributes her success to remaining authentic, staying humble, and maintaining a willingness to learn from others regardless of age or background, guided by her faith and commitment to continuous growth. Through her leadership, counseling, and community involvement with organizations such as the NAACP, Black Leaders Worldwide, Female Leaders in Ministry & Marketplace (FLIM), Putting Youth First Committee Organization and Gamma Phi Delta Sorority, Inc., Dr. Jackson continues to make a lasting impact by promoting empowerment, integrity, and service. Her mission is to inspire others to embrace their purpose, cultivate meaningful relationships, and create positive change within their communities.

01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to staying true to who I am, remaining humble, and embracing a lifelong commitment to learning and personal growth. I believe that wisdom can come from anyone, regardless of age or background, and I never take an opportunity to learn, grow, or gain new perspectives for granted. Guided by my faith, I approach each experience with gratitude, openness, and a willingness to learn from the people and opportunities placed in my path. These values have shaped my journey and continue to inspire me as I serve others and pursue my purpose.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I have ever received is to always remain teachable. I believe that true growth comes from being both a mentor and a mentee, as every person and experience provides an opportunity to learn something new. Throughout my journey, I have learned the importance of staying open to new perspectives, continuously developing my skills, and sharing knowledge with others. I also believe that integrity is non-negotiable and must remain the foundation of both my personal and professional life.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women entering my industry is to embrace who they truly are and remain authentic in every aspect of their journey. There is no need to imitate others or follow someone else’s path, because each person brings unique strengths, experiences, and perspectives to the table. Authenticity, confidence, and staying true to your values will always set you apart and allow your genuine abilities and purpose to shine through.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the greatest opportunities in my field right now is the ability to increase visibility by consistently showing up, building meaningful connections, and positioning myself where new opportunities can emerge. At the same time, one of the ongoing challenges is that certain areas of the industry remain male-dominated, requiring women to be intentional about advocating for themselves, demonstrating their expertise, and creating spaces where their voices and contributions are recognized. I believe that persistence, confidence, and authenticity are key to navigating these challenges and embracing the opportunities ahead.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values that are most important to me in both my work and personal life are communication, integrity, family, and authenticity. I believe that open and honest communication is the foundation for building strong relationships and creating meaningful connections. Integrity guides my decisions and actions, ensuring that I remain true to my values and commitments. Family provides my foundation and support, while authenticity allows me to lead and serve others with honesty, compassion, and purpose. These values shape how I approach every opportunity and interaction, both personally and professionally.
