About Christine
Christine Hill serves as a Compensation Analyst at a community college in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. With nearly nine years in human resources, her career has centered on compensation. Prior to her current role, she developed a compensation manager position from scratch at a school district and previously worked as a compensation and commission administrator. Hill recently earned her Doctor of Business Administration from Prairie View A&M University, building on her Bachelor's of Business Administration and double Master's of Business Administration from the University of North Texas. She is a life member of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority Incorporated, having been involved for 19 years, and participates in initiatives such as Operation Big Book Bag, essay contests for scholarships, and partnerships with St. Jude and March of Dimes, emphasizing financial and etiquette education for youth. Hill attributes her success to her willingness to dive into opportunities without extensive research and see them through to completion, a trait she connects to her athletic background since childhood.

01What do you attribute your success to?
I see a pool, it looks pretty, I jump in. No research. I just went for it. Once I'm in it, I'm in it, and I'm going. I've always been an athlete since I was young. My body told me at 30, this is it, you're done. But I'm one of those ones, if I see a pool, it looks pretty, let's get in it. And then once I'm in it, I'm like, well, let's see it through, we gotta get to the end.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Try it. Get an internship. Get an entry-level job. Try it. Do your research, but you're not gonna know if you like it until you're in it. Start from the bottom. You have the education, but you need education and experience, so don't be afraid to start from the bottom. Adhere to deadlines, they're there for a reason, and don't be afraid to start small.
