Christy Taborski, BA: Speaker: Christy Taborski, AccountantWhat does being an Influential Woman mean to you?Christy Taborski: My hope in being an influential woman is to help inspire other women to take a stand and venture on their own. It was a scary first step, but being able to challenge myself and stand up for what I believe in, knowing that I am following my instincts and ethical beliefs, keeps me striving to achieve my goals each and every day. What's one piece of advice you would give to younger women chasing their dreams?Christy Taborski: The advice I would give to younger women is to not let anyone stand in your way. If you think you can do it, put your mind to it, and you can accomplish anything. Don't let people tell you that you aren't good enough, smart enough, or strong enough. Find the right people who will support your dream and go for it. Going into business for myself was probably the scariest thing I have ever done in my life, but I am enjoying life a lot more since being out of the corporate world. Make sure you balance your work-life goals. There is no reason to work yourself to death and not enjoy life. You never know what life will throw at you, but be ready for anything.

01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to the support and encouragement of a prior supervisor who inspired me to pursue my accounting education. He allowed me the flexibility to complete my homework during slower periods at work, which helped me balance school and responsibilities as a single mother. That guidance motivated me to persevere and achieve my goals.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
I was inspired by the advice that I can achieve anything I put my mind to. This mindset has driven me to remain focused, set ambitious goals, and pursue opportunities that allow me to grow both professionally and personally.
03What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest challenges—and opportunities—is establishing my own business and building visibility through marketing and advertising. Expanding my reach allows me to help more clients succeed financially and make a meaningful impact in their businesses.
04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Helping others is the value I prioritize most. Supporting clients, colleagues, and community members brings purpose and fulfillment to both my professional and personal life.
