Her Story
About Christy
Christy Vilaysack is a real estate finance professional and Vice President of Lending at Dunmor, where she helps real estate investors and brokers secure capital for projects nationwide. Since entering the mortgage industry in 2021, Christy has specialized in private-money lending, with expertise spanning ground-up construction, fix-and-flip, bridge, DSCR, and multifamily financing. Before joining Dunmor in April 2025, she held progressively responsible roles at ZINC Financial, advancing from loan processor to business development officer and senior business development officer. She also previously worked as a mortgage loan processor at De Young Mortgage and Advisory Home Loans.
Christy's career is defined by persistence, relationship building, and a willingness to take on challenges. When she transitioned from processing into loan origination, she began without an established book of business or client base and reportedly made approximately 1,000 cold calls a day to build her network. She challenged an initial expectation that she would remain a processor by asking for 30 days to prove herself, subsequently generating approximately $3.2 million in loan volume during that period. At Dunmor, she has continued developing her lending business by funding projects across the country, including construction and fix-and-flip transactions, while emphasizing communication, trust, and long-term relationships with investors and brokers.
Outside of lending, Christy enjoys traveling, cooking, baking, networking, and attending industry conferences. She has also developed a strong interest in golf, a hobby she began after being introduced to the sport through investors and clients and now incorporates into her travel and social activities. Her personal journey has shaped her approach to professional growth, and she has described moving from being shy and introverted when she was younger to becoming confident in networking, public speaking, and building professional relationships. Looking ahead, Christy has expressed ambitions to establish her own private-money firm and eventually launch a hedge fund, reflecting her long-term goal of building an independent presence in the real estate finance industry.
Her Interview
Ten minutes with Christy
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to persistence, a mindset my father taught me early on. I learned to pursue what I want, ask for opportunities, and keep going even when faced with doubt. When I began originating my own deals without a client base, I made up to 1,000 cold calls a day. When the owner of Zinc Financial doubted I could fund any deals, I asked for 30 days to prove myself—and I delivered $3.2 million in volume.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women entering my industry is to challenge yourself, embrace opportunities, and get comfortable being uncomfortable. Believe in your abilities, build strong relationships, and don't let fear or self-doubt hold you back. Growth comes from pushing beyond your comfort zone, and I’ve learned that taking on challenges—even when they feel intimidating—can open the door to meaningful professional growth.
03What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values most important to me are patience, positivity, resilience, persistence, and empathy. I believe in giving people grace, understanding different perspectives, and focusing on what I can control rather than reacting emotionally. Whether I’m working toward ambitious goals or navigating challenges with clients and colleagues, I value teamwork, staying solution-oriented, and maintaining a positive mindset while continuing to push myself forward.
