About Cieana
Cieana Detloff is a marketing professional based in Chicago, Illinois, with a career spanning more than two decades since entering the field in 2004. She earned her degree in interactive multimedia from Columbia College in Chicago and recently completed the Digital Marketing Accelerator through Northwestern University in April. Cieana is HubSpot certified and RevOps certified, focusing on B2B growth marketing. Her professional journey began at an industrial pump company, where she started as a graphic designer and rose to head of the marketing department, expanding her team from two to six people. She then spent nearly seven years self-employed before joining a Chicago nonprofit innovation center for four years, serving as a startup mentor for marketing. Currently, she works at Visual Phys Agency, a B2B agency in Chicago, where she provides strategic marketing direction to multiple companies.

01What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
Never stop learning no matter where you're at and learn from everyone. Learn from your peers, learn from people younger than you, older than you. Learn from people above you, below you, across from you. Learn all the time. Every day I learn something new. It is critical to lift women up in the workplace.
02What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
New tech always changing, AI has taken over everything. Digital marketing today looks very different than 10 years ago because people's behavior changes as technology changes. It's about providing the right information to the right people at the right time so that real-world impact can be had, economic development, job creation.
