Claudia Wyatt

Company Owner
Claudia Wyatt Coaching LLC
Davenport, IA

I have been in my field my entire life without knowing I was in my field. I studied the arts most of my life. Dancing, singing, performing. That is where the speaking came from, from a very young age. I was also a coach before I knew I was a coach, because I was a leader in every role I ever had. I just had a way with people.

I started my company, Claudia Wyatt Coaching, LLC, almost 6 years ago completely on a whim, which happened because I was putting out content, and people were asking me if I was coaching. At the time, I was executive directing in the corporate world. Then it started clicking that more and more people wanted to work with me because I am a coach who coaches through lived experience, so what I have been through is how I help others. I am also an esthetician, and I have been in the spa industry for 27 years. I worked my way up from makeup artist to esthetician to spa director to executive director. I still have my hands in it and consult for a lot of spas because of my experience in leadership and in the room. I know everything it takes to run the business as well as what it takes to make it run by the people that are doing the work with those clients to create an experience.

The more people I can help, inspire and empower, the better. I facilitate workshops on effective communication through emotional intelligence, establishing and maintaining boundaries, and being your true, authentic self in leadership and in life by leading and living through vulnerability.

I help with personal as well as professional development, because I believe that one hand washes the other, and that if your mindset is correct, you can achieve your dreams and goals in all aspects of your life and live on purpose by following your inner compass.

Q

What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to choosing yes, choosing myself and saying, I'm going for it! Which is technically what I coach on. From going into this industry of doing my own thing, the opportunities that have fallen into my lap on a daily basis have been a blessing. I am unbelievably grateful for the things I've gotten to do and that I get to do.

My first podcast was incredible, and I didn't even know what a podcast was, and I said yes to it. My first award for being an amazing coach, the first time I was a keynote speaker internationally - these are all things that are living the dream out loud.

All of it counts, from speaking to thousands of people on a stage, to working with a group, to going in and fixing a culture of a company so that their people have a voice. There isn't one thing I can pick that's just the thing. The main step would be just choosing yes, choosing the yes, choosing myself and saying, I'm going for it.

Q

What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

You are the brand. One of my mentors told me to remember "you are the brand." That set the tone for everything I did moving forward. Its something that seems so simple, yet the deep roots of the meaning goes far and wide. I keep that in the forefront of everything I do along with me core values. That is how I know I am in alignment.

Q

What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Absolutely, go for it. There is no reason to hold back, because no matter where you are in your journey, you will match someone else's need for you and or your services. Either you have been where they are, or you are where they are going or where they want to go. They need someone that they can relate to, to see that someone else has been there, that someone else has been through it. You are showing them what is possible, becaise you are possible. No matter how small or how large, the failure, the win, it all counts. It opens the door for someone to say, I need you. Your uniqueness, your abilities, your style, your way.

Q

What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

You have to be willing to play the long game. Not everyone or everything is a yes right away. You need to connect and build relationships. Build the know, like and trust. Keep showing up authentically, opportunities and people will find you. You have to remember not everyone knows who you are and what you do. Especially if you have left a thriving career, it can be discouraging that the pace you were used to isnt the same. It is important to remember your purpose.

Q

What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Integrity, kindness, vulnerability, authenticity.

My mission is to inspire people to believe in themselves. I know what it's like when you forget who you are, mute yourself, you hold back. You hide and pretend your fine to avoid being vulnerable. Vulnerability is a superpower. It is the core of connection.

I'm a huge believer in building community, networking and collaborating. I love bringing people together. I'm also know as the human connector. I love bringing people together.

I love being excited! Also know as the Enthusiasm Igniter. I find so much joy in being curious. I get fired up from firing people up!

I am unbelievably grateful for every single thing that I get to do every single day, from writing a small piece of vulnerability that I put on social media that spoke to someone to my story being shared on a podcast or a stage. Coaching individuals to show up as themselves for themselves. Putting the pieces back together from a broken culture, it all comes down to the people. Without them I couldn't do what I do.
