Her Story

About Crystal

I have been in the psychotherapy industry for over 20 years, and I work for myself through my business, Crystal Copeland, LLC, which I established 6 years ago. I also contract with Pattison Professional Counseling and Mediation Center and with Headway for telehealth services. I'm licensed to practice in Florida and also provide telehealth services in virtual states including New Jersey, Maryland, and Massachusetts. My main areas of expertise include working with PTSD and trauma, mood disorders, and delusional disorders. I'm more on the clinical side and consider myself a psychotherapist. I'm currently pursuing my PhD in clinical psychology and have completed all of my classwork, with only my dissertation remaining, which I expect to finish in the next 2 years. I hold two master's degrees in clinical psychology and counseling psychology, both from Alabama A&M University, as well as a double bachelor's degree in clinical psychology and sociology from the University of North Alabama. I'm also pursuing supervisory training and working toward my NCC credential.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Crystal

01What do you attribute your success to?

I think it came from being a single mother. I just drew a lot of strength from knowing that I was giving them a better future. I worked like 2 and 3 jobs and put myself through school while being a single mom. It's hard, but it's worth it. It's totally worth it.

02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice would be to not expect anything. You get pretty much everything, and it's very unpredictable. But I would also say, if it's worth having, it's worth working for. I learned that the hard way. My mother always said I was hard-headed and had to learn the hard way.
