Crystal Navarro Sedore is the Founder and Certified Pediatric Sleep Consultant of Rest Within Reach Pediatric Sleep Consulting, where she partners with families worldwide to transform chaotic nights into calm, restorative sleep. She specializes in supporting expecting parents, postpartum mothers, and families with children from newborn through preschool age (0–6 years), using a holistic, evidence-based, and parent-led approach. Through personalized coaching, Crystal helps families develop healthy, independent sleep habits while meeting them where they are and tailoring strategies to align with their parenting style and comfort level.

Crystal’s journey into pediatric sleep consulting began after successfully sleep training her first daughter and experiencing firsthand the impact of consistent sleep routines on family well-being. What started as sharing her personal experience in parenting communities evolved into a professional certification and a passion-driven business. Today, she provides fully virtual consulting services that include in-depth family assessments, customized sleep plans, and hands-on coaching support to guide parents through implementation with confidence and clarity.

In her work, Crystal emphasizes that sleep training is as much about coaching parents as it is about children. She believes that empowering caregivers with knowledge, structure, and support leads to lasting transformation for the entire household. A graduate of Rutgers University–Newark with a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and Criminal Justice, Crystal combines analytical thinking with compassionate coaching to deliver practical, sustainable sleep solutions. Through Rest Within Reach, she is committed to helping families build healthier routines and achieve restful nights, no matter where they are in the world.

Q

What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

There's so much information and misinformation out there. When I see moms and families seeking help, needing a different way, needing a solution, they're being bashed, like mom bashing, about 'well, that's just normal, what did you expect?' or 'sleep training is bad for them' or 'that just means you're ignoring your baby.' That's not what it is at all. Unfortunately, when you hear bad information, then you have families and moms being scared to get the help, because they're like, 'I'm gonna damage my baby, I'm gonna hurt them if I help them to learn this thing.' Then they feel stuck. What mom wants to hurt their baby? They don't. If you're being told that this hurts your baby, then you're not gonna pursue that. I'm combating bad information in this world of gentle parenting, permissive parenting, and all the things. Even those words are being taken out of context and to mean what they really don't mean, and then people don't get the help they need.
