Ten minutes with Curtisha
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to my faith, resilience, and the support of my family and community. My journey has not always been easy, but every challenge has strengthened my determination and shaped me into the person I am today.
I also credit my passion for serving others and my commitment to growth and education. Being able to care for, mentor, and encourage others gives me purpose and keeps me grounded in what truly matters.
Most importantly, I believe success is rooted in consistency, perseverance, and staying true to your values even when life becomes difficult.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I’ve ever received is to stay consistent, remain humble, and never stop learning. I was also taught that your character and work ethic will open more doors than titles ever will, so always lead with integrity and purpose.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I would tell young women entering this field to stay focused, be patient with your growth, and never underestimate the value of compassion and consistency. Always continue learning, ask questions, and take pride in the care and service you provide. Most importantly, believe in yourself even when the journey gets challenging, because your purpose will carry you through.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest challenges in my field is addressing the growing need for accessible, compassionate care while also navigating limited resources and increasing demands on healthcare professionals. It requires patience, adaptability, and a strong commitment to quality care.
At the same time, there are incredible opportunities for growth in mentorship, community outreach, and preventive support. I believe the field is expanding toward more holistic, patient-centered care, which creates space to make a deeper impact on individuals and families beyond the clinical setting.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The most important values in my work and personal life are faith, integrity, compassion, and respect. I believe in treating everyone with dignity and leading with kindness in everything I do.
I also value consistency, growth, and service—always striving to improve myself while making a positive impact on others. These values guide both my career and the way I show up for my family and community.
