Her Interview

Ten minutes with Dr. Dale

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to the strong foundation provided by my mother, grandmother, and sisters, as well as the values rooted in my Afro-Latina heritage from Roatan, Honduras. I was raised with a deep emphasis on independence, education, self-love, and community care, which shaped how I approach both personal and professional life. These principles taught me to continuously develop myself, uplift others, and ensure that I bring people along with me as I grow and succeed.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I have ever received is to love myself unconditionally and recognize my inherent worth. I was reminded that I deserve to be in every room I enter simply because I am there, and not because of external validation. Degrees, certifications, and awards are meaningful accomplishments, but they are not the foundation of my value; true success comes from understanding and owning my self-worth.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice to young women entering my industry is to never compromise your values and to be intentional about the organizations you choose to work with. Seek environments that align with your personal mission and consistently demonstrate the principles they claim to uphold. Equally important is knowing your self-worth, practicing self-love, and trusting that you bring value to every space you enter.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest challenges in my field is shifting the perception of HR among C-suite executives from a cost center to a true strategic partner. While HR plays a critical role in reducing organizational risk, preventing costly lawsuits, improving employee engagement, and addressing burnout, these contributions are not always fully recognized at the leadership level. The opportunity lies in strengthening the use of data alongside the human impact story to clearly demonstrate how HR drives business outcomes and long-term organizational success.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values most important to me in both my work and personal life are delivering excellence in everything I do, maintaining a strong faith in God, and prioritizing peace and gratitude. I am guided by a deep commitment to unconditional love for myself and for humanity, which shapes how I show up in relationships, leadership, and service. These values keep me grounded, purpose-driven, and intentional in creating meaningful impact in every space I am part of.
