Her Story

About Dana

Dana Pasqualone began her career with a degree in public accounting, working at an accounting firm where she completed her internship. This foundation allowed her to transition into technology, where she spent over 15 years building expertise across accounting, HR operations, and professional services operations roles. After 10 years at one tech company, she was recruited to Cisco. In parallel, she entered politics when encouraged by her internship firm, getting elected as Councilwoman in 2016 for a four-year term ending in 2021. She returned to the position in July for a new two-and-a-half-year term, driven by a desire to give back to the community while maintaining her full-time tech career. Her experiences in male-dominated fields have reinforced her commitment to integrity, resilience, and being open to opportunities.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Dana

01What do you attribute your success to?

I think I really like challenges, like, personally, so I think opportunity, like, I think you learn a lot when people are not the same as you. My parents always taught us to be able to be independent and to rely on ourselves. I think one of the qualities they have, is resilience and persistence. Like, if I want to accomplish something, I stop at nothing.

02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

I think the main thing is to always be true to yourself, and always do things with integrity and honesty, because at the end of the day, being respected is more important than being liked. I think being kind, like, always trying to help other people. I think just being kind, being truthful, living out your values and integrity. Being open to opportunities is another thing.
