Ten minutes with Dawn
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to faith, resilience, lifelong learning, and a deep commitment to serving people well. My journey has taught me that success is not just about what you know; it is about how you use what you know to help others grow.
With more than 31 years of corporate experience, I have learned the value of discipline, adaptability, critical thinking, and sound judgment. Those same principles now shape my work in AI literacy and responsible AI adoption. I believe my success comes from staying curious, remaining teachable, and using every season of my life as preparation for the next assignment.
At the core, I am passionate about helping people gain clarity, confidence, and the judgment needed to thrive in a changing world.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I have ever received is to stay teachable and never stop growing. My corporate career taught me that skills are important, but adaptability, discipline, and sound judgment are what sustain long-term success. That advice continues to guide my work today as I help professionals build AI literacy, confidence, and human-centered judgment in a changing world.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women entering the AI industry is to stay curious, stay teachable, and never let the technology intimidate you. Learn the tools, but also strengthen your judgment, communication, ethics, and critical thinking. AI is powerful, but the real advantage is still human wisdom. Start where you are, keep learning, and trust that your voice belongs in the room.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest challenges in the AI field right now is the trust gap. There are so many people offering AI services, training, and tools that many organizations do not know who to trust or where to begin.
That challenge creates a major opportunity for responsible AI literacy. Organizations need more than access to AI; they need practical guidance, critical thinking, and human-centered judgment. My work focuses on helping teams move beyond AI awareness into responsible, confident, real-world application.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values most important to me are faith, integrity, authenticity, service, and lifelong learning. In my work, those values shape how I teach AI literacy and responsible adoption. I believe people need more than access to technology; they need trusted guidance, critical thinking, and human-centered judgment. In my personal life, those same values guide how I serve, lead, and show up for others with purpose, honesty, and compassion.
