Her Story

About Debbie

Debbie Groves has built her career around a belief that meaningful business growth begins with understanding people—their challenges, motivations, and potential. As founder of MintRidge Group, she brings more than 20 years of experience in enterprise sales, business transformation, and talent technology to help organizations accelerate growth, strengthen their capabilities, and deliver measurable results.

Her career began in an unexpected place: music. After earning a degree in music and business from the University of Hartford, Debbie worked in nonprofit fundraising for symphony orchestras, where she discovered how creativity, relationships, and a compelling vision could inspire people to invest in something meaningful. That experience laid the foundation for a career defined by curiosity, a willingness to embrace new challenges, and an ability to see possibilities across seemingly different disciplines.

Debbie transitioned into the emerging e-learning industry with Skillsoft before moving into talent analytics and advisory services with KnowledgeAdvisors, CEB, and Gartner. Over the following years, she led high-performing enterprise sales teams, expanded strategic client relationships, and helped organizations use workforce analytics to make better decisions about talent and business performance. Each transition provided an opportunity to learn, grow, and apply her experience in new ways.

She later took on the challenge of launching North American operations for CoachHub, a German-based digital coaching company. As Vice President of North America, she built the commercial organization, developed its go-to-market strategy, and helped establish the company as a significant player in the corporate coaching market. At RSM, she expanded her focus into management consulting, helping organizations navigate digital transformation, customer experience, AI, enterprise technology, and organizational change.

Today, through MintRidge Group and its SalesWave consulting practice, Debbie brings these experiences together to help growing companies develop effective sales strategies, build stronger pipelines, and pursue complex enterprise opportunities. She also advises organizations on technology modernization and adoption, including CRM implementations and workforce development initiatives.

Throughout her career, Debbie has found the greatest satisfaction in the lasting impact of her work on others. Among her most meaningful professional memories are handwritten notes from clients expressing appreciation for contributions that helped their organizations succeed and individuals grow in their careers. These moments reinforce her belief that leadership is measured not only by business results, but also by the opportunities created for others.

Debbie's career reflects a willingness to embrace change, take calculated risks, and continually reinvent herself. She believes the skills and perspectives developed through one experience often become unexpected strengths in the next. Her background in music continues to influence how she approaches business challenges—with creativity, discipline, collaboration, and an appreciation for the unique contributions of others.

For emerging professionals, particularly women navigating career transitions or considering new paths, Debbie encourages staying curious, recognizing their natural strengths, and having the confidence to explore opportunities beyond their original plans. She also emphasizes the importance of self-care, perspective, and defining success on one's own terms.

From the performing arts to executive leadership and entrepreneurship, Debbie's journey demonstrates that a fulfilling career rarely follows a straight line—and that some of the most rewarding opportunities emerge when we remain open to what comes next.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Debbie

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute much of my success to genuine curiosity, a willingness to embrace new challenges, and a commitment to understanding what matters most to the people and organizations I work with. I've always been motivated by the opportunity to make a meaningful difference, both in business outcomes and in the professional growth of individuals. Some of my most rewarding moments have been receiving handwritten thank-you notes from clients describing how our work helped them achieve industry recognition or advance personally in their careers. Those moments remind me that the most lasting measure of success is the impact we have on others.

02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice to young women is to recognize your strengths and build a career around them. You don't have to be the loudest person in the room to be influential, and you don't have to fit someone else's definition of a successful leader. Be curious, take risks, ask questions, and don't be afraid to pursue opportunities that stretch you. Some of the most rewarding chapters of my career came from stepping into something unfamiliar.

Just as importantly, take care of yourself and make room for the people and experiences that matter outside of work. It's easy to let your career consume you, especially when you're passionate about what you do or building a business. Success should be something you enjoy along the way, not just something you're working toward.

03What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

The pace of change, particularly with AI, is both the biggest challenge and the greatest opportunity in our industry. Technology is transforming how we work, how businesses operate, and the skills we need to succeed. It's happening faster than many organizations and individuals can adapt.

I believe our ability to learn, adapt, and reinvent ourselves is one of the greatest measures of the value we bring. Throughout my career, I've seen technologies, business models, and entire industries evolve. What remains constant is the importance of human creativity, judgment, relationships, and the ability to solve problems.

AI creates tremendous opportunities for those willing to embrace change. The challenge is to stay curious, keep learning, and find new ways to apply our experience. I find that incredibly exciting, because reinvention has been a recurring theme throughout my own career.

04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Integrity, curiosity, and meaningful relationships are at the heart of both my professional and personal life. I believe in doing what I say I will do, treating people with respect, and building trust through honesty and authenticity. I'm naturally curious and value continuous learning, which has given me the confidence to embrace change, take risks, and explore new opportunities throughout my career.

I'm also passionate about helping others recognize their strengths and reach their potential. Whether I'm working with a client, leading a team, or supporting someone personally, I find fulfillment in seeing others grow and succeed.

Equally important is maintaining perspective and balance. My family, relationships, and personal well-being are central to who I am. I believe success should be measured not only by professional accomplishments, but also by the quality of our relationships, the joy we find in life, and the positive impact we have on others.
