Her Story

About Dhyana

I moved to New York at a young age, and I'm currently in my senior year while working as an admissions counselor at my college. In this role, I interact with people daily, sharing information about the college and programs, which has really helped me grow my communication skills. I'm deeply passionate about the beauty and skincare industry, and I'm preparing to launch my own brand in 2026. What drives me most is growth - I always do things intentionally rather than going with the flow. I believe in taking things into my control and doing everything with awareness and intention, even though it can be overwhelming at times when things aren't in my control. This year has been particularly transformative as I've been balancing everything together, and when I reflect back, I can see how much I've grown. Even the smallest things, like my daily interactions as an admissions counselor, contribute to my development. Coming here and building something where I can inspire others and give back to the beauty and skincare industry means the world to me.

Ten minutes with Dhyana

01What do you attribute your success to?

I would say I never believe in this thing which is go with the flow, and a lot of people might argue with this - it is a debatable topic - but I always did things intentionally, rather than going with the flow or believing that it will happen for me. I think I like to take things in my control a bit. It can get a little overwhelming sometimes, because not always things are in your control, but I think just that thought of doing everything with awareness and intention is something I would attribute my success to. Growth is one thing which always keeps me on my toes and keeps me happy that something is happening good in my life, that I'm going somewhere and I'm not at the same position. Even the smallest things, like when I'm working as the admissions counselor at my college and I have to interact a lot with people and tell them about the college - even that small thing feels like it's growing my communication skills.

02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

I would say, honestly, first of all, do your research in depth, because there's so much layers in this field that it feels like never-ending, so don't get overwhelmed, but also don't rely on socials or the internet - do the fact checking, you know, check every information is correct or not. Learn, I would say, especially with the AI going on, learn how to use AI to your benefit. You don't have to let it replace you, but you can learn to make it more valuable in how you bring yourself to the table. That is something, especially in 2026, that is so important. Apart from that, I would say that I wouldn't say be yourself, but I would say be your best selves, which is, you know, if something you think is not exactly working out for you with who you are today, change yourself to be the better version. That is the advice I would like to give.
