Her Story

About Donna

The Carly Imbierowicz Foundation was established in October 2016 to honor Carly's beautiful 16 years of life on Earth, which ended tragically from carbon monoxide - The Silent Killer. Carly’s short, but sweet life leads to a powerful story. We share Carly’s story to save lives and carry on her compassion and inspiration for children, animals, nature, and travel. Our mission is to advocate for Carbon Monoxide awareness, prevention, and the right for all living beings to breathe clean air and live healthier, happier lives in a world that desperately needs carbon monoxide poisoning advocacy and action.

Ten minutes with Donna

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to both of my parents who taught me to have a strong work ethic and to treat others with respect. I also surround myself with positive people who look for the best in others.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

I have always had a very strong work ethic in life and I have chosen to inspire others to reach their full potential. In life it is so important to find your passion where you can make a difference. Networking with other women can be so beneficial and rewarding.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

After the tragic death of my daughter, I made the decision to start the non profit awareness company because I wanted to prevent others from dying from CO the Silent Killer. If I were to give advice to young women I would say find a place to volunteer where you are passionate about the cause.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

Carbon Monoxide poisoning is 100% preventable and auto manufacturers should be doing more to detect it and prevent it. Educating the public on the dangers of Carbon Monoxide is critical in today's world.

Family life and positive values are most important to me alongside my personal growth and health.
