Outside of my professional life, my greatest joy is spending time with my family, dancing, and listening to music. I am passionate about youth outreach, professional coaching, and mentoring others to recognize their potential and pursue their goals with confidence.
One of my greatest passions is making myself visible, not for recognition, but to serve as an example that it’s never too late and you should never give up on yourself. 01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to resilience, purpose, and a commitment to continuous learning. I’ve learned that success isn’t about never falling down. It’s about having the courage to get back up every time you do. I’ve experienced setbacks and rough patches throughout my career, but I never stopped believing in my purpose or pursuing my goals. Every challenge strengthened my resolve to lead with authenticity, improve patient care, and create opportunities for those who follow.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I ever received was, “Always dress for your next role.” That advice has stayed with me because it’s about much more than clothing. It’s about how you show up. People often form perceptions before you ever speak, so I believe in showing up with confidence, professionalism, and the mindset of the leader I aspire to be.
As a Latina, I also believe it’s important to present yourself in a way that reflects the significance of the role you hold and the one you seek. While our appearance should never define our capabilities, first impressions do matter. I want my presence to communicate professionalism, credibility, and that I am prepared to lead.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Stay humble and never stop building your toolbox. Continuously develop new skills, expand your knowledge, and seek experiences so that when the right opportunity knocks, you’re ready. Don’t shy away from challenges. Embrace them, do your research, and strive to become a subject matter expert in your field.
Learn from everyone you meet. Sometimes they’ll teach you what to do, and other times they’ll teach you what not to do. Both lessons are invaluable.
Finally, never be afraid to say, “I don’t know, but I’ll find out.” The best leaders aren’t the ones who know everything. They’re the ones who are committed to learning, growing, and getting it right.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest challenges in healthcare today is navigating an increasingly complex regulatory environment while maintaining high-quality, patient-centered care. Healthcare organizations are balancing evolving federal and state regulations, workforce shortages, cybersecurity threats, financial pressures, and rising patient expectations. The opportunity lies in building strong cultures of safety, investing in proactive compliance, and leveraging innovation to improve quality, reduce risk, and deliver better outcomes for the patients and communities we serve.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Being authentic and staying true to myself and those I serve are at the core of who I am. I value being a person of my word, remaining loyal, and showing up every day as the best version of myself. I believe character is reflected not only in what you accomplish, but in how you treat people along the way.

Throughout my doctoral research examining the experiences of Latina hospital C-suite executives, one theme surfaced repeatedly.
Many accomplished leaders reached executive positions without a clear roadmap.
They relied on resilience, mentorship, sponsorship, continuous learning, and an unwavering commitment to growth because the traditional leadership pipeline wasn't designed with their experiences in mind.
Their stories reinforced something that extends far beyond healthcare.
Talent exists everywhere. Opportunity does not.
Organizations that intentionally cultivate diverse leadership pipelines strengthen decision-making, foster innovation, and better reflect the communities they serve. Leadership development is no longer simply a professional benefit; it is a business imperative.
Building Leaders Before They're Needed
Too often, organizations wait until someone receives a promotion before investing in leadership development.
By then, the learning curve has already begun.
The strongest organizations prepare future leaders before opportunities arise. Likewise, the strongest professionals invest in themselves before someone else recognizes their potential.
