Her Story

About Elizabeth

I work for ProTech Medical as the Mid-Atlantic Sales Manager, a position I've held for about 2 years as of June. I've been in medical hospital sales for 11 years total. My main areas of expertise are relationship building and time management. I earned a Bachelor's of Science in Business with a minor in Psychology from Virginia Commonwealth University many years ago. I didn't take my degree and utilize it for exactly what I studied. Instead, I capitalized on my strengths as a person and used those for my career. I saw that my strengths lie in building relationships and managing accounts, so I took my personal strengths and used those for my career. I decided to look into the medical industry after being in a previous sales industry. When our economy suffered a really bad hit years ago, so many people in different industries were finding themselves unemployed and their companies were struggling. I saw the medical field as an industry that is always needed, where management will always be needed. I thought I would get into something where there's stability in knowing that it will always be needed and that I can always help in some way. There's always opportunity to do better within this industry because it's not going away. My most notable professional achievement is maintaining relationships within the industry regardless of the career. I go into every day with a positive mind and have a lot of fun in what I do while also being successful. I represent ProTech Medical to the best of my ability as one of the people on the front line out there in front of the accounts, so that the company can continue its own success.

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to a desire to provide for my kids and my horses. That piece of ambition where you see an opportunity as a privilege and you want to do your best. I go into every day with a positive mind and I have a lot of fun in what I do, while also being successful.

02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

I would say to see an opportunity to help in the medical industry as a privilege and to have a lot of fun with it. Though obviously you're doing a job, being involved in an industry where you see all different types of people in different situations, you have a lot of compassion for that. You know that you're helping with a piece of the puzzle to help these hospitals run so that they can help people.
