Q

What do you attribute your success to?

My success has come from listening to my clients and understanding their goals and business needs so that I can provide compliant practical legal solutions.

Q

What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

I was lucky to have many mentors. The best advice I received was to be open to supporting a wide range of clients and industries so that I could be flexible and evolve as new roles emerged. I took on many special projects resulting from business acquisitions, joint venture relationships, and taking on leadership roles related to new compliance regulations.

Q

What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

I encourage women attorneys to attend conferences and seminars when available to pick up on pragmatic solutions and networking opportunities with other industry leaders. I also encourage using your own organization’s resources to learn new skills.

Q

What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

Many businesses want to add AI and technology software to increase productivity and financial performance. I have negotiated many contracts to incorporate AI into existing workflows. Legal opportunities to draft updates to policies and procedures and compliance programs will help clients remain compliant with evolving international, federal, and state regulations. As work cultures adapt to mergers, new leadership, technological advances, and increased focus on productivity, I anticipate providing legal support for work force management from recruiting, retention, job performance, and separations.

Q

What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

I value honesty and integrity to build trust, collaboration, and loyalty in my work and personal life. Volunteer work has honed my enthusiasm and appreciation for empathy and creativity.
