Her Story

About Elizabeth

Elizabeth Silas is the host and creator of "I Am Ms. Lexi Podcast" (also referenced as "Ms. Lexi's From the Heart"), an empowerment-focused show she launched in the early 2020s to walk listeners through the struggles, setbacks, and victories that shape a person's journey toward their dreams. Based in Phoenix, Arizona, she built her platform while working full-time in retail, using her own life story as the foundation for a show that encourages people to heal from trauma, embrace their self-worth, and understand that it is never too late to start pursuing what they truly want. Her willingness to speak candidly about her own path has turned the podcast into more than entertainment — it functions as a companion for listeners working through their own obstacles. Long before stepping into podcasting, Elizabeth spent years exploring the entertainment industry, taking on work as a background extra in film productions such as Bring It On, while also writing music and performing as part of a music group. She later spent over a decade managing artists and building a music brand through her own venture. Through every chapter, she has continued working in retail, rising through roles that included coordinator and department manager over more than two decades, experience that sharpened the discipline and people-management skills she now applies to running her own platform. She holds a GED and completed coursework in business management and the business side of music at San Diego City College, though her studies were interrupted by a relocation. What defines Elizabeth most, by her own account, is raising her four children — three daughters and one son — as a young single mother, an experience she credits as the source of her resilience and compassion. Guided by lessons drawn from her faith and from life itself, she centers her work and personal life around self-love, kindness, hard work, and family. Looking forward, she hopes to grow her podcast into an internationally recognized source of encouragement, pursue further education in business, and launch nonprofit efforts centered on blood disorder awareness, a cause inspired by her own daughter's health journey. In recognition of her work, she was selected as a featured honoree by Influential Women in its 2026 edition representing Phoenix, Arizona.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Elizabeth

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to the life lessons I've learned along the way, as well as the guidance I've drawn from my faith and the teachings of the Bible. Raising four children as a young single mother tested me in ways that built real strength and compassion, and that experience is what now allows me to encourage and uplift others.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best advice I've ever received is to never let setbacks define my future. I've learned to treat every challenge as an opportunity to learn, grow, and keep moving forward toward my purpose.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

I would tell young women entering this industry not to give up on themselves, no matter what they're feeling or going through. Believe in yourself first, and make sure you place yourself at the very top of your own priorities.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

The biggest challenge I face is reaching the people who genuinely want more for their lives but feel they aren't capable of pursuing it. My goal is to get those individuals to actually tune in, engage, comment, and ask questions rather than staying silent in their doubt.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values that matter most to me are loving myself first, treating others with kindness, working hard at everything I do, and always putting my family first.
