She has served as a Shift Lead for more than two years, supporting daily store operations including staff leadership, training, inventory management, financial processes, payroll support, and customer service. Emma is recognized for her strong relationship-building skills and her ability to create a positive, team-oriented environment that supports both employees and customers. She takes a people-first approach to leadership, emphasizing empathy, communication, and consistency in every interaction. Throughout her time in operations, Emma has demonstrated the ability to remain composed in fast-paced and unexpected situations, supporting her team and ensuring safe and effective resolution of operational challenges. In addition to her operational experience, Emma has developed a growing interest in marketing, brand engagement, and experiential storytelling. In 2025, she participated in Dunkin's nationwide Influencer competition, where she independently developed, filmed, and edited original content focused on brand storytelling and customer experience. This experience introduced her to mentorship and exposure within the broader hospitality and sports entertainment space, including guidance from industry professionals such as Hartford Yard Goats General Manager Michael Abramson. As she continues to grow professionally, Emma is pursuing opportunities that bridge operations, marketing, and community-focused leadership, with plans to further her education in business and marketing. She is passionate about building meaningful experiences that connect people, strengthen teams, and positively impact her community.

Ten minutes with Emma

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to consistency and a commitment to steady growth over time. I’ve learned that meaningful progress doesn’t happen all at once—it comes from taking small, intentional steps and building a strong foundation through daily effort and responsibility. I’ve also come to understand that everyone’s path looks different. Through both my own experiences and conversations with mentors, I’ve gained perspective on the importance of focusing on my own growth rather than comparing myself to others. Everyone develops at their own pace, and I’ve learned to trust that process. Over the years, I’ve faced personal challenges that required resilience and persistence, and those experiences have reinforced my work ethic and determination to keep moving forward. At the same time, my role in operations and leadership has allowed me to apply that mindset in a practical way—staying consistent, learning continuously, and growing into more responsibility over time.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I’ve received is that there is no single path that looks the same for everyone. Early on, I felt the pressure that many people do to follow a traditional timeline from high school into college and into a defined career path. Over time, I’ve learned that growth and opportunity can happen in many different ways, and that progress is not always linear. A perspective that has stayed with me is the importance of focusing on your own journey rather than comparing yourself to others. It’s easy to look at other people’s achievements and feel like you are behind, but everyone develops at a different pace, and those differences are what shape individual paths. This mindset has helped me stay grounded in my own experiences and remain open to learning, growth, and new opportunities as they come.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice to young women entering the industry is to trust themselves and build confidence in their own decisions. It’s easy to second-guess yourself or become influenced by outside opinions, especially early in your career, but I’ve learned that staying grounded in your own values and what genuinely motivates you is key. Success in this field is built over time through consistency and small, intentional steps. There is no instant path to the top, but by showing up consistently, learning from each experience, and continuing to grow, you create a strong foundation for long-term success. Most importantly, I would encourage others to focus on their own journey rather than comparison, and to stay committed to growth even when progress feels gradual.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest challenges in customer service today is maintaining genuine human connection in fast-paced and sometimes high-stress environments. People are often distracted or carrying their own pressures, which can make interactions feel more transactional or difficult at times. In these moments, I’ve learned the importance of staying consistent, patient, and positive in every interaction, even when it isn’t immediately reciprocated. Building rapport takes time, and not every interaction starts off warm or easy. Over time, I’ve found that showing up with consistency and professionalism helps break down those barriers and creates stronger, more meaningful relationships.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values most important to me are integrity, kindness, and the importance of building meaningful connections with others. I’ve always believed in showing up with empathy and honesty, and in treating people with respect in every interaction, whether in my personal life or in the workplace. In my work, especially within customer service and operations, I value creating a positive environment where both customers and team members feel supported and respected. I enjoy roles that allow me to connect with others and contribute to a welcoming, people-centered experience. These values have shaped the way I approach both my career and personal life, and continue to guide how I show up in every opportunity I take on.
