About
I build SDR organizations from the ground up; operating models, inbound and outbound playbooks, AI-enabled technology stacks, and performance cadences, that consistently deliver pipeline attainment above 100%.
Over the past 6 years I've led Sales Development teams at Confluent, ComplyAdvantage, Miro, and Algolia, scaling pipeline engines across AMER and LATAM markets and partnering with AI and engineering teams to deploy automation agents that drive measurable output uplift.
A few things I've built that I'm proud of:
→ Took ComplyAdvantage's AMER SDR function of $4.3M in quarterly pipeline — 110%, 133%, 164% attainment across three consecutive quarters — by redesigning the full operating model, deploying an AI-enabled outbound stack (Clay, TitanX, HeyReach), and cutting ramp time from 4 weeks to 2 weeks
→ Improved connect rates 4x (3% → 12%) and average deal quality 189% ($27K → $78K QBA) through AI-powered outbound redesign
→ Drove MQL-to-opportunity conversion from 21% to 38% through ICP refinement, persona-based outreach, and SLA framework redesign that reduced inbound leakage by 80%
→ At Confluent, leading AMER & LATAM SDR coverage — $830K in closed-won ACV QTD in Q1 FY26, 121% attainment on Stage 2s/SP pipeline target, and a phased LATAM market expansion plan built from scratch
My leadership philosophy: Recruitment + Retention = Revenue. The right people, built on the right frameworks, with the right feedback loops, create compounding pipeline growth.
Outside of work I'm a mentor at WISE (Women in Sales Everywhere), a public speaker, and a Pavilion member — invested in building a more inclusive pipeline of future sales leaders.
If you're building or scaling a global SDR organization and want to talk pipeline architecture, AI-enabled GTM, or team building, please reach out!… more

Excited to share I’ll be speaking at Pipeline Conference 2025 this November in Dallas! 🎤
Last year in Austin, the panels at Pipeline Conference blew me away. The energy, the real talk, the brilliance in every room — I left so energized with fresh ideas and surrounded by a community that genuinely gets it. It reminded me just how powerful this space can be when we show up, share openly, and build each other up.
This year, I’m beyond honored to return — this time on stage — and I cannot wait to learn from, connect with, and be inspired by the best of the best in sales development.
Huge thanks to Sam Nelson for curating such an impactful space year after year — this community is such a gift!
See y’all real soon!

I’ve been a little quieter than usual on LinkedIn lately, but I’m ready to jump back in and give back.
The last few months brought some unexpected change and a heck of a lot of reflection. As I get ready to share a career update, I wanted to start with a lesson that feels especially relevant in todays crazy market (I pinky promise it’s worth the long-ish post):
📢 You can make all the right decisions and still have the outcome change overnight. 📢
Six months ago, I made one of the hardest decisions of my career. I left a company I genuinely loved. The people were incredible, the mission was amazing and meaningful. But I was also in a season where I needed to prioritize my health and my family, and I knew I needed an environment that would give me the space and support to do that.
When the opportunity came to return to Confluent, it felt like THE right decision. I was returning to leaders I trusted, people I respected, and a culture that had played a significant role in shaping my career. (Shout out to the CFLT table at my wedding). Then, with one boardroom decision, the CFLT era came to an end.
Not just for me, but for hundreds of talented people who helped shape what Confluent became. Watching entire teams disappear is heartbreaking when you’ve seen firsthand the caliber of people, leadership, and culture that existed within them.
What this experience reinforced for me though and I hope reinforces for those still reading; No title, company, acquisition, or org chart gets to define your value. What matters is whether you’re making decisions aligned with your values, whether you’re willing to choose your health and family when it matters most, and whether you have the courage to keep moving forward when things don’t go according to plan. ✍
To my Confluent teammates, mentors, leaders, and friends, thank you, thank you and thank you. To Susan Kunz and Kyle Gudgeon, thank you for bringing me back and trusting me to build alongside you. Although this chapter did not end the way the three of us hoped, I will always be grateful for the opportunity, the trust, and the example you set as leaders.
📢 If you take anything at all away from this soapbox it would be the same lesson I started with: you can make all the right decisions and still have the outcome change overnight. That is exactly why we need to be in each other’s corner. People have to come first.
As for me, I am excited about what’s next and incredibly proud of the opportunity ahead, mission I’m joining and the people I will be surrounded by…more on that soon 🔐 (more like in a few minutes) … more

Lots of layoffs this week.
Here is how you can actually help someone waking up without a job. From someone who has been there.
✅ Hear their story. Not a quick “let me know how I can help.” Actually sit with them. An ear does more than you think right now.
✅ Don’t treat them like they suddenly have a disease. If you were a coworker, check in. A simple message lands differently than silence.
✅ Write down the titles they are targeting and tag them when you see relevant openings in the wild. It takes thirty seconds and it means everything.
✅ Warm intro them to people in your network. A real one. Not a mass email.
And maybe most importantly. Remind them who they are, which is NOT defined by what happened to them last week.
The job will come. What they need from you right now is to feel like a person, not a problem.… more

Proud to be a founding member of the Women in Sales Leadership Circle👏🏼
Over the last few years leading GTM and pipeline generation teams, I’ve learned that leadership can be incredibly rewarding, but also isolating at times.
Especially in high-growth environments where you’re expected to constantly operate at a high level while helping everyone else grow around you.
That’s why I’m excited about this community. A space for women in revenue leadership to have real conversations, challenge each other, share perspective, and grow alongside people who genuinely understand the role.
Grateful to be building alongside such thoughtful leaders from the very beginning. Even more grateful to Women in Sales Shannon Plumb for empowering this environment ✨
If you’re a Director+ in a revenue role and looking for this kind of community, applications are open.

On April 30, we’ll be saying goodbye to some truly exceptional members of Confluent’s Global Talent Acquisition team as part of broader organizational changes. While I’m heartbroken to see them go, I’m incredibly proud of the impact they’ve had and want to make sure my network knows just how special they are.
Michael Murray Chris McGill Monique Aristy Cat Moran Komal Patel Lauren Zabel Megan Patterson (Schoonmaker) Jay Nguyen Daniel James Maya Frankel Emily Mitton Tonya Perri Tara Wilton Jerrick T. Clarissa Chia
To each of you: thank you for the way you showed up for candidates, hiring managers, and for one another. You raised the bar for what great recruiting looks like, and I’m deeply grateful for everything you’ve done during your time at Confluent.
To my network: if you are hiring for recruiters, sourcers, or employee branding roles, please consider this group for your open positions. They are strategic, data minded, and deeply candidate centric. Reach out to them directly or contact me for an introduction.
Finally, my entire TA organization has been impacted, and there will be additional team members terming later this year. I’ll continue to highlight them as timing becomes clear, but for now, I would appreciate any support, referrals, or warm leads you can extend to this incredible group of talent.… more

Senior Talent Leader I GTM & Technical Recruiting I Scaling High-Performance Teams @ Horizon3.ai

This week has been heavy. With the news of layoffs at Confluent due to the acquisition by IBM affecting 800+ of my colleagues, I am feeling a profound mix of sadness and immense pride.
My time at Confluent has been more than just a job; it has been the most transformative chapter of my life. I started here as a sourcer and, through the incredible culture of growth, I had the opportunity to move into a leadership role managing the most talented recruiters in the industry.
To my team: You are the sharpest, most resilient group I’ve ever worked with. Together, we built a world-class hiring engine and brought in some of the most elite sales talent the industry has ever seen. I’ve had the privilege of working with many of you for over 4 years, and I can say with certainty that any company would be lucky to have you (though, be warned: I fully intend to hire you all back the moment I can!).
To my network and hiring leaders: If you are looking for talent that knows how to scale and execute at the highest level, look no further than the Confluent talent hitting the market this week. These are exactly the people you want in the trenches with you when things get challenging. They don't just hit targets; they build cultures.
While I am heartbroken that my time here is coming to an end, I am leaving with a heart full of gratitude for the relationships I built. I am excited for what’s next and can't wait to build another powerhouse recruiting engine at my next stop.
If you are looking for top-tier talent, please reach out. I would be honored to vouch for these incredible people.

Yesterday marked a significant milestone for Confluent. IBM officially closed its $11b acquisition, beginning a new chapter for a company that has played a defining role in shaping what real time data means for modern businesses. The opportunity ahead for the combined organization is enormous. Expanding the reach of data streaming to more customers, unlocking new use cases, and bringing the platform into a much broader global ecosystem.
But moments like this carry two truths at the same time.
While Confluent enters an exciting new phase, hundreds of incredibly talented colleagues had their roles impacted yesterday. Many of these are people I’ve had the privilege of learning from, building with, and calling teammates.
I boomeranged back to Confluent because of the people and the culture. This is where I really found my voice and confidence in how I show up and support others at work. I was surrounded by people who showed me what great teams look like. People who empower others to grow, lead with dignity and integrity, challenge each other to think bigger, and create environments where people can do the best work of their careers.
So I want to share two things with my network:
First, if you are hiring, take a close look at Confluent talent. The people coming out of this organization are thoughtful, driven, high integrity operators. Across engineering, GTM, marketing, product, and operations, these teams helped build a category and scale.
Second, to my colleagues who were affected, you are not alone. If you need introductions, references, or someone to talk through your next step with, please reach out. I am more than happy to help however I can.
💖 Moments of change are never easy, but they remind us what truly makes companies special. It has always been the people.… more

I have been in SaaS for about 10 years and have been in leadership for about 6 years. My path was quite unconventional - I originally went to film school and got my bachelor's degree in entertainment law, hoping to go to law school, but I was a broke college student in the middle of LA. I came back to Texas right when the big tech boom happened. I'm a very competitive person and played sports my entire life, and I wanted money, so I got into top of funnel sales, specifically SDR work. That's where it all clicked for me - it was the perfect marriage of human psychology, the art of negotiation, and competition, and you get rewarded with what you put in. Now I lead early career folks, sometimes career switchers who want a different walk of life, or people straight out of college. My goal is to develop them professionally and personally through hands-on coaching on gravitas, managing up, communication, and how to hold themselves, especially when talking to prospects and customers in a sales function. The other half of my job involves a lot of cross-functional leadership - I'm meant to be that conduit between different functions of a revenue organization. I work with marketing, revenue operations, talent teams, human resources, and sales teams, and my job is to convey what's happening on the field, what's happening with my people, and where we can grow. I'm in a lot of strategy meetings day-to-day, as well as flipping over to one-on-one meetings and being present with my reps, helping them elevate who they are and how they push themselves.
Her Interview
Ten minutes with Erica
01What do you attribute your success to?
I had a manager a few years ago who told me, 'You have so many great ideas, but I've never met anyone more scared to execute them.' The advice he gave me was that it doesn't matter how many times you fail, as long as you make sure that your wins are spoken to everyone. That was a major pivot point for me in my leadership career. I had all these ideas, all these grand ways to fix revenue operations and other things, but I was always internally saying to myself, 'Hey, you don't have all the pieces, you're not a professional at this, just sit on the sidelines.' That obviously held my growth back a lot and held back potential impact - I was just so utterly scared of failure. But the realization is that no one has the perfect playbook, and how great companies and great teams come to existence is through abundance of failures, learning, reflection, and pivoting. Since then, it doesn't really matter if I have all the moving blocks, I just try it. If it fails, it fails, and I move on to the next thing, because that's the whole purpose - growth.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
A manager told me, 'You have so many great ideas, but I've never met anyone more scared to execute them.' He advised me that it doesn't matter how many times you fail, as long as you make sure that your wins are spoken to everyone. That was a major pivot point for me in my leadership career because I had all these ideas and grand ways to fix revenue operations, but I was always scared of failure and telling myself I didn't have all the pieces or wasn't professional enough. The realization is that no one has the perfect playbook, and great companies and teams come to existence through abundance of failures, learning, reflection, and pivoting. Since then, it doesn't matter if I have all the moving blocks - I just try it. If it fails, it fails, and I move on to the next thing, because that's the whole purpose: growth.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Through my mentoring work with Women in Sales Everywhere, I talk with individual contributors who are looking to break into leadership in tech about the highs and lows, especially in a male-dominated space. We discuss how to carry yourself and how to make sure your voice is heard with high integrity. In the founding leadership circle of Women in Sales, we have off-the-script monthly connects where we talk about the headwinds and tailwinds of being at that level of senior leadership in a male-dominated space - it's a place to really support each other and give each other playbooks.
04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
One value I'm very strong on is win hearts and then minds. That paradigm I live within my personal and professional life challenges you to gain people's perspectives, gain the perspective around you, versus just leading with your own perspective, which can be very ignorant and not show you the world in which it is. When I go into a new team or a new company, I always start with that methodology. I don't put my head down and think, 'Okay, what's my number? What quota do I have? How do I need to get it to make money?' I think, 'Okay, what is the State of the Union? What are my peers, my cross-functional stakeholders? What are their OKRs? What are their headwinds and tailwinds?' I try to immerse myself in their worlds, and that's how you win that heart part. Then you come in with your perspective and your point of view, and you marry the two. That, to me, is the perfect recipe to earn real trust.
