Dr. Evelyn Denise Hemphill: Speaker: Dr. Evelyn Hemphill , Motivational Speaker/Activist/AuthorDr. Evelyn Hemphill : Being able to give someone a torch. When they may be in darkness. What does being an Influential Woman mean to you?Dr. Evelyn Hemphill : Hi. I'm Doctor Evelyn. What it means to be an influential woman to me is. Being able to give someone a torch. When they may be in darkness. Being able to encourage someone. When it feels like there's no way out. Also setting a professional example. And speaking. From a healthy heal place. It's a part Of being an influential woman. Also having hard conversations and being transparent. About what it actually took. To become An influential woman. Although there are many pictures painted today. As if people have lived perfect lives. But that's not always the case. Sometimes we have to talk about. Our imperfections. In order to be a light to someone. That may be imperfect right now. Being an influential woman. May mean that we have to look at ourselves. Transparently. In a mirror. And states sometimes in the past, we may have had times where things may not have been perfect. But we got through it. And we can share. Our wisdom. Our resources. In our life experiences. As to how. We will be able to become an influential woman. As I just stated, we don't want a lot of times we don't wanna, we can't make things look gla glamorous. And make everything seem perfect. Because that's not real life. In a lot of cases. We have to talk about those challenges. That we experience. We have to talk about. Where we came from, some of, some of us. Because a lot of us didn't grow up privileged. I know I didn't. I came from poverty. But I'm an author. I'm a motivational speaker. I'm an advocate. That cares about others. Sometimes. Experience It's what really matters. You can't get everything from a textbook. In life Sometimes you have to experience something in order to help the next person. You have to be compassionate. You have to be empathetic. And you also have to be willing to be a listening ear. For others Nowadays, people like real people. Not people. I think it's very important. That people meet people that have had some life experience. And that are willing to talk about it. I've been there I got my life experiences. It wasn't easy. But today I'm an influential woman. And I would love to tell you my story. In order to encourage you. Coming from a real. Life situation, a real standpoint. And not a fairy tale. Thank you for listening. I'm Doctor Evelyn. And I am an a.What's one piece of advice you would give to younger women chasing their dreams?Dr. Evelyn Hemphill : I'm Doctor Evelyn. One piece of advice that I would give to a younger woman chasing their dreams is to stay focused. And never lose your identity. I know it may be difficult sometimes. But stay focused. And stay on your task. And never ever stop. Pursuing your dreams.
