Falguni Das

Product Marketing & Launch Strategy Manager(DTC Apparel)
KARENO
Dallas, TX

I have been working in the fashion and retail marketing field for 1.5 years, where I currently lead marketing at Kareno, a fashion and retail brand. In this role, I manage digital marketing, content creation, and marketing strategy. Before joining Kareno, I completed my Master's in Marketing from University of Texas Dallas, graduating in Spring 2025 after starting the two-year program in 2023. During my master's program, I worked as an intern with a live event and festival organizing company, where I focused on marketing strategy, ticket sales, and live entertainment marketing. Prior to moving to the U.S. and pursuing my master's degree, I had experience working with industrial goods and manufacturing companies in the SaaS industry, as well as with a consulting firm. I also hold a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from an engineering college in India, my home country, with about an 8-year gap between my bachelor's and master's degrees. Beyond my corporate marketing work, I am a thought leader on LinkedIn where I post marketing-related content, and I am also a published writer with four anthologies and one single novella to my name. I am currently working on another book related to product marketing in the industry I work in now. Additionally, I am a screenplay writer and have written two short scripts, one of which has been nominated in two international film festivals. My most recent professional achievement has been the consistency in challenging myself to grow and the significant revenue I have generated for my current employer - through my marketing strategy efforts, we were able to generate three times our return on investment.

Q

What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to my parents, because they have been giving me a lot of support during my ups and downs in all these years when I've been transitioning from computer science to marketing. I also give tribute to my own self, because I have been consistent and I have never settled for something which felt comfortable. I have always pushed myself and always challenged myself and found the growth. The consistency in challenging myself and the willingness to step outside my comfort zone has been key to my achievements.

Q

What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

The most intriguing advice I can give to someone coming into the fashion and retail industry is to always keep up with the trends, because the fashion industry is something which keeps on changing as per the seasons. The other advice I want to share with ladies is that the fashion industry requires you to be more presentable and to always have a presence of mind and the ability to solve problems immediately and quickly, because it requires smartness along with personality. Being able to adapt quickly and think on your feet is essential in this fast-paced industry.
