Francesca Antonacci is a New York City–based professional dancer, choreographer, and certified health and wellness coach with a lifelong foundation in classical dance and movement arts. She began her training at the age of four and later completed her formal studies in classical ballet through the Royal Academy of London, establishing the technical rigor and discipline that continue to inform her work.

She went on to build a professional performance career and co-founded Kafra Collective, where she continues to develop and present original choreographic work. Alongside her artistic path, Francesca expanded her focus into holistic movement and wellness, driven by a commitment to longevity in physically demanding careers.

After navigating the realities of injury and recovery within the dance world, she pursued advanced training in yoga, Gyrotonic, and becoming a certified instructor, and later a certified health coach. Since 2012, she has worked with dancers, athletes, and professionals, developing an integrated method that combines movement, strength, breathwork, and recovery to support injury prevention and long-term physical sustainability.

Through her work, Francesca bridges the gap between performance and wellness, helping clients build resilient, high-functioning bodies while maintaining overall well-being. Her approach emphasizes alignment, efficiency, and self-awareness, with a focus on creating sustainable practices that enhance both professional performance and everyday life.

Her broader mission is to redefine how individuals relate to their bodies—shifting from short-term output to long-term health, resilience, and conscious movement.

Q

What do you attribute your success to?

My success is rooted in witnessing the transformation of others through movement, particularly as they heal from both physical and emotional trauma. Dance has also been central to my own healing journey—it helped me process my childhood, stay focused, and develop the discipline that guided me toward my purpose.

Over time, I learned to transform personal challenges into expression and meaning through movement and choreography. Today, my greatest fulfillment comes from helping others, especially women, reconnect with their bodies, embrace their individuality, and cultivate both healing and confidence.

I am not driven by recognition, but by a clear sense of purpose: to inspire others through integrity, passion, and work that creates lasting impact.

Q

What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The most meaningful inspiration in my career has come from my clients over the past few years. As I’ve moved through my own journey, I’ve been deeply influenced by the powerful and beautiful women I’ve worked with—women who embody strength, resilience, and transformation. They have shaped a significant part of my path, offering me insight, purpose, and fulfillment along the way. Our relationships are mutually enriching; they inspire me just as much as I hope to inspire them, and that shared growth continues to guide my work.

Q

What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice to young women entering my industry is to learn the power of pausing. In a world that constantly pushes us to achieve and move faster, it is important to slow down, listen to yourself, and allow clarity to come with time and patience rather than force. When you create space to truly listen to your body and your inner voice, you begin to understand your purpose and how to bring it into your life in a meaningful, practical way. I encourage focusing less on how to make money and more on how to transform and share what has been life-changing for you with others. When we stop rushing, we can hear ourselves more clearly—and from that place of awareness, direction and purpose naturally emerge.

Q

What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

The biggest challenges in my field include managing and preventing chronic injuries, addressing inflammation and stress, and supporting long-term physical sustainability for performers. These demands require a deeper understanding of the body and a more holistic approach to care and training. At the same time, there are significant opportunities in integrating disciplines such as yoga, Gyrotonic, Pilates, dance, and nutrition to create more comprehensive, movement-based healing systems. This approach can make wellness more accessible not only to dancers and athletes, but to everyone who wants to move and keep the body strong and healthy without any age restrictions , helping expand the reach of embodied health and recovery beyond traditional performance spaces.

Q

What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

I am in a very meaningful stage of my life where my values have become clearer through both personal growth and challenge. After a painful divorce, I was able to reconnect with myself and prioritize what matters most: my son, my family roots in Italy, and the joy of being a mother. I deeply value family and the strong circle of women in my life who have supported me through difficult times, as I truly believe friends are the family we choose. I also cherish connection and shared experiences through travel, food, music, and culture, which bring me balance and joy. Ultimately, my values are rooted in love, authenticity, gratitude, and meaningful human connection.
