Hala Nassereddine

Dr. Hala Nassereddine is an Associate Professor of Construction Engineering and Project Management at the University of Kentucky, where she has dedicated more than a decade to teaching, mentoring, and research—including her early years at the University of Wisconsin–Madison. She is recognized by her students as an engaging and impactful educator who is deeply committed to helping them succeed. Known for her passion for adding value to the lives of others, Dr. Nassereddine has built her career around fostering growth, innovation, and excellence in the construction industry.
Raised in Lebanon, Dr. Nassereddine comes from a first-generation family of engineers and educators and was strongly influenced by her father, who served as a mentor and source of inspiration. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering from Rafik Hariri University, before pursuing both her Master’s and Ph.D. in Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Wisconsin–Madison. During her graduate studies, she also completed a minor in Statistics and a certificate in Business, Environment, and Social Responsibility. In 2024, she became True Lean™ certified.
Her research focuses on addressing the challenges of the past and present in the construction industry while maintaining a forward-looking vision. She investigates the intersections of people, processes, and technology at both organizational and project levels. Her scholarship spans transportation asset management, organizational change, workforce development, Construction 4.0 (with emphasis on Digital Twins and Augmented Reality), Lean Construction, digital project delivery, and process reengineering. To date, Dr. Nassereddine has secured more than $7 million in competitive research funding and published over 100 scholarly articles, advancing knowledge and practice across the construction field. Dr. Nassereddine’s contributions have been recognized through numerous honors, including the 2025 Pigman College of Engineering Excellence in Research Award (Associate Professor Level), the 2024 and 2025 CE Department Outstanding Faculty Awards, the UAccel Cohort Spirit of I-Corps Award, the Daniel V. Terrell Paper Competition (ASCE Region 4), the Russell J. Alessi ELECTRI International Early Career Award, and the Construction Industry Institute’s Academic Showcase Award.
Complementing her academic career, Dr. Nassereddine is also the President and Founder of NCM Consulting LLC. Through this firm, she works closely with industry partners to understand their needs and deliver practical solutions that drive organizational improvement and innovation.
Beyond her professional work, Dr. Nassereddine enjoys song-writing, hiking, and kayaking—activities that allow her to maintain balance and creativity in her life.
