What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to a deep curiosity to learning new things. The construction technology industry is always changing and being able to grow and adapt to the changes has helped me grow, innovate and help others do the same. Collaboration has also fueled my growth. I believe when we lift each other up, we grow together. This was one of the core reasons we started the MEP Goddesses, to help empower others.
What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
One of the best career tips I was given was to always be my authentic self.
What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
The advice I would give to young women that want to enter the construction industry is Try Anything! Try welding, manufacturing, trade school, learn new skills. Run towards challenges, not away from them. You may find something you truly love and enjoy along the way. Also, to have fun and always be fabulous, MEP Goddess style!
What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest challenges in construction today is the skilled labor shortage, especially when it comes to professionals experienced in BIM, advanced MEP modeling, and digital tools. BIM and clash detection are no longer optional; they’re expected. With more trades adopting BIM, tighter schedules, increased prefabrication, and shorter timelines, the coordination burden across architects, MEP specialists, contractors, fabricators, and owners is greater than ever. The opportunity lies in how we respond. I’m fortunate to work with an incredible company that develops tools to streamline workflows, close gaps, and create real efficiencies. We empower users with smart solutions that simplify the complex issues, because building better starts with designing smarter, and smarter starts with Symetri and the MEP Goddesses!
What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
In my work life, the values that matter most to me are training, mentoring, and sharing knowledge. I believe in lifting others up so they can succeed too. Building relationships with other women in a male-dominated industry and working together as a team makes construction not only impactful, but also fun and fabulous. In my personal life, my family is at the heart of my values. Spending time with them doing the things we love keeps me grounded. That balance between professional drive and personal joy fuels my creativity, focus, and passion for everything I do.
