Her Interview
Ten minutes with Helmi
01What do you attribute your success to?
Trusting my passion for creative work. People encouraged me to go towards the arts side because they saw my painting, and I learned you can still make money being creative. As long as you're doing something you're passionate about, that's always a good bet.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
Trust that as long as you're really doing something you're passionate about, that's always a good bet. I wish I had pursued creative work earlier instead of spending years in marketing.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
It's never too late to change careers and try different things. I felt too old in my late 20s when I switched, but looking back it was not old at all. If it doesn't work out you can always go back, so take a chance on yourself.
04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Honesty and being true to yourself. Kindness. Treat others like you'd like to be treated - you can't go wrong with that.
