Her Interview

Ten minutes with Hristina

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to curiosity, adaptability, persistence, analytical thinking, and a commitment to continuous learning. Throughout my career, I have embraced opportunities to grow, transition into new industries, and approach challenges from different perspectives. I have also benefited from mentors who encouraged me to consider alternative viewpoints before making decisions. Their guidance, combined with my focus on collaboration, relationship building, and delivering measurable results, has shaped my leadership approach.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

One of the most valuable lessons I have learned from a mentor is the importance of considering different perspectives before making decisions. Taking the time to understand a situation from multiple viewpoints helps me make more thoughtful decisions, navigate competing priorities, and collaborate more effectively. I have also learned from leaders who demonstrate the importance of emotional intelligence, empathy, and listening carefully to others.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

I encourage young women entering the SaaS and technology industries to prioritize relationship building and take the time to understand each customer's broader objectives. Look beyond the immediate problem to understand what success means to the customer, how a product supports their goals, and where additional value can be delivered. I also recommend embracing AI tools to improve productivity and uncover insights while maintaining human oversight to verify information and ensure sound decision-making. Build strong analytical and communication skills, remain open to learning, and recognize that effective leadership combines technological knowledge with emotional intelligence, collaboration, and a genuine understanding of people and business processes and operations.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest opportunities in customer success is using AI and data analytics to identify customer needs, detect potential churn risks, improve product adoption, and deliver value more proactively. AI can help teams process large amounts of information, uncover patterns, and make better-informed recommendations. However, organizations must also ensure that AI-generated insights are verified and applied appropriately.

A key challenge is maintaining the human connection that builds customer trust while increasing efficiency through automation. Customer success professionals must work closely with product, engineering, marketing, and other teams to resolve implementation issues, align business priorities, and ensure customers achieve their intended outcomes. I believe the strongest approach combines technology-driven insights with human judgment, clear communication, and cross-functional collaboration.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

I value collaboration, empathy, accountability, adaptability, and continuous improvement. I believe effective leadership begins with listening, understanding different perspectives, and creating an environment where people feel heard and supported. I also value analytical thinking and responsible innovation, particularly when using AI to solve problems and improve business outcomes. In my work, I strive to build strong relationships, communicate clearly, and help teams overcome obstacles to deliver meaningful results. I believe technology is most effective when paired with human judgment and emotional intelligence. Ultimately, I want to contribute to positive customer experiences, stronger teams, and sustainable business success. The North Star for me both in my personal, as well as in my work life has been the idea of not stopping until the work I did was something I am proud of.
