I am a legal consultant with over 9 years of experience in the legal field. I work for myself through my company, Phoenix Legal, which I founded three years ago after spending years as a senior paralegal for a personal injury law firm. I got my start in consulting when I realized that every firm I worked at, attorneys would try to recruit me from my current place of employment, which made me realize I must be doing something right. When I asked them what they were lacking at their firms, it was normally software implementation, utilization, and case management, or they weren't really training their staff - not because they didn't want to, but because they just didn't have enough people with the experience to train their staff. I believe in the legal community that we should be a union, and we should always help each other out, especially within the paralegal field. Everybody wants to be successful in their role, so why not give them the tools and the knowledge that they need to get themselves there? That's when I started my consulting firm. I meet with law firms, attorneys, and office managers to find out what areas they need help with, whether it's marketing, strategy, job placement, training, or implementation. I train paralegals and legal assistants with little to no experience, as well as those with experience looking to brush up their craft, or those experiencing a career change who have never dived into the legal field. What stands me out compared to other recruiting agencies is that once I place a candidate with a law firm, I stay with them for an additional 30 days if they need additional training. This bridges the gap and ensures they have the support they need to succeed.
