Insight alone doesn't change behavior. We respond not to the present, but to what it reminds us of, or what we fear comes next.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Indira

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to paying attention. I’ve built my career by noticing patterns in human behavior that other people often overlook. Whether I’m working with students, educators, or creating new frameworks, I’ve learned that the smallest observations often lead to the biggest breakthroughs. Curiosity has been more valuable to me than certainty, and asking “Why does this make sense?” has shaped nearly every opportunity I’ve had.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

Trust your observations. If you keep noticing the same pattern, don’t dismiss it because no one else is talking about it. Sometimes innovation begins with paying attention long enough to ask a better question.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Don’t build your career around fitting in. Build it around paying attention.

Your greatest contribution probably won’t come from repeating what everyone else already believes. It will come from noticing patterns that others overlook and having the courage to ask better questions.

Expertise is important, but curiosity is what keeps your work evolving. Stay teachable, protect your integrity, and don’t be afraid to develop ideas that don’t yet have a name. Innovation often begins long before other people recognize its value.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest opportunities is moving beyond simply describing behavior to understanding why it makes sense.

We have more conversations than ever about mental health, trauma, resilience, and emotional regulation, but many people are still left wondering why they continue repeating the same patterns despite understanding them intellectually.

I believe the future of this work lies in helping people recognize how past experiences continue to shape present-day expectations and behavior. When we understand the relationship between time, perception, and emotional capacity, we can move beyond awareness and begin designing practical tools for lasting change.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values that matter most to me are curiosity, integrity, and service. Curiosity keeps me learning, integrity keeps me grounded, and service reminds me that knowledge has the greatest impact when it’s shared. Whether I’m working with educators, writing, or developing new frameworks, I hope people leave with a deeper understanding of themselves and practical tools they can use in everyday life.
