Q

What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to resilience and adaptability. As a Colombian-born American, I learned responsibility early on by advocating for my family and navigating complex systems. Without much mentorship at the start of my career, I had to trust my instincts and adapt quickly. That self-reliance gave me confidence, but it also shaped my leadership style offering support and guidance to those around me.

Q

What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best advice I’ve received is to have open, regular conversations with managers and mentors — not just about performance but about growth and long-term goals. Feedback, whether positive or constructive, uncovers blind spots and helps align expectations. I carry that forward by ensuring those I work with know their growth matters.

Q

What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice is to stay curious and proactive. Learn the business beyond your role, ask thoughtful questions, and build relationships across teams. You don’t have to be the loudest person in the room — showing genuine interest and contributing meaningfully will make your perspective visible. Many opportunities come simply from being present and engaged.

Q

What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One challenge is balancing efficiency with high-quality service in fast-changing industries. Another is ensuring equity of access, especially for immigrant and underserved communities. But these challenges are also opportunities: to innovate with tools and data while still keeping people at the center, and to use our roles to create systems that are both effective and inclusive.

Q

What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

In my professional life, integrity and mentorship are most important. I believe leadership is about lifting others up, creating environments where people feel seen, supported, and capable. In my personal life, family and community ground me. Quality time with loved ones reminds me what matters most and gives me the balance I bring into my work.
