Her Interview
Ten minutes with Jacquelyn
01What do you attribute your success to?
My mom was a single mom and I saw her bust it, so I attribute my success to resilience and being a very driven person. I know that my success is something that I earned and I'm proud of that.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
Show up for the job you want, not the job you have. From a design standpoint, the way you show up even physically matters - if you feel good, you're gonna do good.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Go for it, and come up with solutions to problems before other people even know they exist. With AI specifically, women have lower adoption rates, so get creative in your off time and use it to build new skills instead of doom scrolling.
04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
I don't believe in toxic positivity but I do believe in the law of attraction. Look for the positive in things and solutions versus getting bogged down. I value respect - respect is something that you give if you want to be respected. Trust is also super important and needs to be earned through logic, authenticity and empathy.
