Her Story
About Janet
I started Grow Ministries in 2004 after a series of life experiences including surviving an attempted abortion, abandonment, abusive marriages, and finding faith in 1987. The ministry helps women from jail with faith-based counseling for domestic violence and addiction, using workbooks and the Genesis Process. We have a 97% success rate. I was trained by Focus Ministries in Chicago for domestic violence counseling and received a certificate in nonprofit management and addiction counseling. I also published the book She Was Born for a Purpose.

Ten minutes with Janet
01What do you attribute your success to?
My relationship with Jesus Christ. Everything that I've done since my life changed when I gave my life to Christ as my Savior. God timed everything perfectly in my life.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
Do what God wants you to do. Not everybody has to have a career or a college degree in order to be successful.
03What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
Finding the right people to surround me, good board members and volunteers, especially a marketing director. People have a hard time making commitments.
04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Truth. Just be truthful. It's so much more peaceful when you know you've told the truth about something.
