Her Interview
Ten minutes with Janet
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to advocating for those in need, maintaining emotional awareness, staying goal-oriented, and committing to continuous learning and professional growth. I believe in treating others with kindness, respect, and empathy, and I am driven by the desire to make a positive difference every day through my work, relationships, and service to others.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I have received is that success comes from perseverance and never giving up, even in the face of challenges. I have also learned the importance of taking pride in my accomplishments and recognizing my progress along the way. Standing tall with confidence and pride in my work continues to guide how I approach my career and personal growth.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women entering my industry is to embrace your unique self and bring your authentic voice into every space you enter. Stay open to new experiences and opportunities, even those that feel unfamiliar, as they often lead to growth and discovery. Most importantly, keep pushing forward with determination and focus on finding and pursuing your passion, as it will guide your long-term success and fulfillment.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest challenges in my field is the affordability of counseling services. Because we operate as a biblical entity and do not provide clinical diagnoses, we are unable to bill insurance and therefore function as a self-pay program. This can create significant financial barriers for individuals and families, especially those navigating difficult circumstances such as divorce or multiple family members needing support at the same time. Despite this challenge, it also highlights the importance of our mission—to reach and support as many families and individuals as possible through life’s struggles and help them move toward healing, growth, and a fuller, more meaningful life.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The most important values to me in both my work and personal life are empathy, honesty, and creating a safe space for others. I strive to approach every interaction with understanding and compassion, ensuring that people feel heard and supported. I also value openness and honesty, and I aim to foster an environment where others feel comfortable sharing their life experiences and challenges without fear of judgment.
