Her Story

About Jasika

Jasika Kaur is a Compliance Analyst at Lancer Worldwide, where she supports regulatory and organizational compliance through accounting audits, entry-level audits, JSOX audits, DLC audits, and process-level control reviews. With close to a year and a half of experience in the field, she works closely with process owners to identify control deficiencies and develop practical action plans that keep company practices aligned with established policies. Her path into compliance followed a foundation in accounting and finance, including prior experience at Protiviti, H&R Block, Noridian Healthcare Solutions, and CEA Group, where she built skills in financial analysis, audit investigation, and regulatory risk assessment.

A graduate of Rutgers University–New Brunswick with a bachelor's degree in Finance, Jasika also served as President and Captain of Nehriyan Bhangra, gaining hands-on experience managing budgets, coordinating operations, and leading her team through high-pressure performances. That leadership experience, paired with her academic training, shaped her into a detail-oriented professional who is comfortable navigating complex systems and communicating across teams. Her transition from tax and audit work into compliance reflects her broader philosophy of pursuing growth even when it requires stepping into unfamiliar territory, most notably when she relocated from New Jersey to Texas to take on a new professional opportunity.

Outside of her career, Jasika stays engaged through regular gym visits, reading, hiking, and volunteering at food banks and pet shelters, interests that mirror her broader commitment to discipline, curiosity, and giving back. She holds honesty, loyalty, and ambition as central values in both her professional and personal life, and she views compliance as a growing yet often overlooked field with meaningful opportunities for those willing to build strong communication skills. As she continues to develop her expertise, Jasika remains focused on taking calculated risks, expanding her impact, and building a career defined by integrity and continuous growth.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Jasika

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to my willingness to take risks and step outside my comfort zone. Leaving my family in New Jersey to accept a position in Texas was one of the biggest leaps I've taken, but it taught me that being ambitious sometimes means embracing uncertainty. I believe you only live once, and you never know where an opportunity might lead if you're willing to pursue it.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best advice I've received is not to be afraid to take a leap. When I made the decision to relocate from New Jersey to Texas for my current role, it required real courage, but it reinforced for me that ambition often means taking chances that feel uncertain in the moment. I encourage myself, and others, to lean into those moments rather than shy away from them.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice to young women entering the finance and compliance industry would be to be confident in your abilities, ask questions, and never be afraid to speak up. Early in your career, you may sometimes feel like you are not the most experienced person in the room, but that does not mean your perspective is not valuable.

I would also encourage women to seek out opportunities that challenge them and to build strong relationships with mentors and colleagues. My own experience has allowed me to work across investment banking, financial crime compliance, tax, healthcare auditing, and corporate compliance, and each experience has helped me develop a broader understanding of the industry.

Most importantly, do not be afraid to take up space. Continue learning, trust yourself, and remember that you do not have to know everything when you start. Your willingness to learn, communicate, and take on new challenges can be just as valuable as your technical skills.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest challenges in compliance is developing strong communication skills, since success in this role depends heavily on the ability to convey information clearly and constructively. At the same time, I see this as an opportunity, because compliance remains a niche field that not many people pursue, which means there is significant room for growth for those willing to build expertise in it.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Honesty is essential to me, both professionally and personally, and I try to carry that principle into everything I do. Loyalty and ambition matter just as much; I'm driven to consistently do my best work while also investing in my personal growth, whether that's through daily gym visits, reading, or simply staying committed to lifelong learning.
