Her Story
About Jasmine
I've been in the supply chain field for about four years, and I've been in my current position as a supply chain specialist for one year. Previously, I worked as a supply chain analyst. In my current role, I manage a multi-location vendor network to fulfill client work requests and make sure everything is in full compliance with contractual obligations as it relates to the needs of the client. I work in facilities management, overseeing supplier relations and vendor optimization, and I also help identify sourcing and cost savings opportunities to help our client and strengthen the contractual value with them. Communication has really been a big thing for me - at first I wanted to do journalism, but that didn't work out, so I wanted to find a way where I can still use my communication skills to bring people together. Supply chain basically does a whole bunch of things with regard to communication, and I'm always bringing people together as it relates to vendor relations. I find really good satisfaction out of that, just communicating and cultivating good work environments. I like being a bridge for open communication.

Ten minutes with Jasmine
01What do you attribute your success to?
I have a really, really good growth mindset. I'm always open to learning and improving, no matter what position I'm in, and also holding myself accountable, taking ownership of my goals, which drives my results. I'm also disciplined and consistent, showing up even when it's difficult. I think I have really good stride, I guess you could say.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice would be to always challenge yourself, but also give yourself a lot of grace.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I would say just learn to be open to multiple opportunities, because there's so much that you can do within supply chain.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
I would say the biggest challenge is, funny enough, communication, especially in supply chain. There is a lot of miscommunication, and I feel like if you have more professionals who are willing to go the extra mile within communication, it'll make it easier. So, there's always open opportunity for collaboration in supply chain.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Integrity. I feel like when you have good integrity about yourself, not only are you honest with yourself, but that also includes holding yourself to a standard, a high standard in how you treat others, and also how you show up for yourself.
